The press release sure sounds like this might be the last tour, or at least the last one where they play a lot of dates

After 40 years together and 20 gold and platinum studio albums – Rush is ready to celebrate with the most loyal fans in the world by embarking on their 21st tour, one which will most likely be their last major tour of this magnitude. Celebrate four decades of music with three incredible musicians – all in 1 night.
indoor arena shows this time around. Last few times I've gone, they have been outdoor shows. Can't wait to see the set list. Last time they broke out Camera Eye. Should be a gem unearthed here as well...
Gotta schlep out to Haymarket and Jiffy Lube Live (formerly Nissan Pavillion). But, gotta do what's necessary. If this is truly the last major tour, it's probably the right time to bring my 10 year old sons to their first show. If any other DC/MD/VA BBIers are thinking of going, shoot me a note.

YAJ2112...I don't think that's the case. I've read and watched several interview from Geddy and Alex and they're not close to being done.
Basically they told Neil they want to play and or write. They're itching to get after it again. So you might see a new song or 2 release and played on this tour just like they played Caravan and BU2B on the Time Machine tour. Neil is trying to manage family time raising his 5 year old and Geddy and Alex's urge to play again.

I actually think this will be the last big tour. I don't know that Neil has 2-3 more tours in him. I think Geddy and Alex do, but the tours are so punishing on Neil at this point. The dates reflect that...34 dates over 3 months.

Then tell him to take the Gulfstream like everyone else and stop riding his bike everywhere!
LA looks like the last North American stop on 8/1/2015.
I haven't seen Rush in years (my bad); do they typically announce a particular album(s) they are playing?
I saw Yes at the Greek Theatre in LA last year. They played all of The Yes Album and Close To The Edge (essentially the Yessongs Album). It was fantastic.

They will announce and do a final tour....this isn't it.
I'm sure they will still get together to play and write after this Â

They don't have an album to promote this time. Last tour they played nearly all of Clockwork Angels to get it out there. They did play a lot off of Power Windows on that tour. Prior to that was the Time Machine tour and they played Moving Pictures in its entirety to celebrate its 30th year. Don't think there's a plan right now to play a full album, though Signals has been rumored from time to time.
for tunes: Countdown and Xanadu. Can't remember them playing either in the last several tours...
Would love Cygnus X-1...
They played Cygnus X-1 during the second leg of the Time Machine tour. And I thought Xanadu was in there somewhere - either Snakes and Arrows or Clockwork Angels. I'm 99% sure they played it during a show I was at during those tours. Even though the brain was a bit... Hazy?
my take is that this works for Neil. It's summer time, his kid and wife can travel with him as much as possible with no school to worry about. I think something short like this works for him. They're cramming 34 shows in 3 months so it's gonna be a grind for the boys.
It looks like they'll play stuff for every era, which will be fantastic. Would love to see them do Hemispheres from start to finish but I think that's a pipe dream.
B in Alb....they played Natural Science, one of my favs, on Snakes and Arrows tour. I think they play Xanadu on the R30 tour...another one of my favs....would love to see them both on this tour.....hazy for sure!

They normally hit the baltimore arena later in the tour. At least they did last time, but depends on the audience draw.
On the VT tour the encore had By-tor leading into Cygnus X-1 up to when the lyrics start, since there's no way Ged can hit that range now. They've had Cygnus teasers numerous times prior and since then.
as I said above, they played the prologue (up to the words) in the encore on the VT tour (I about pissed my pants in Hartford thinking they were playing the whole thing, but alas it ain't happening). It was in the R30 medley, and they've just teased it here and there since.
timintey - I'm in Lincoln County so I'd have about the same drive, but I'm planning on staying up there for the night and having some after show fun rather than drive home.

OK. As I said, last time a bunch of folks met up at Natty's for pre-show cocktails. I'm usually so amped up afterwards that the drive is easy...I'll probably bring my boys too and its a school night...

We met up with some folks at Natty's beforehand last time they played there. I may hit the opening and closing shows as well.
Alex has said he wants this to be one for the fans and play a lot of obscure material. We'll see.

BTW, pre-sales for a number of the shows are this morning! Not the GSO one though...

I'm also going to the ATL show and Tampa. That will be a busy week for sure.
I'd like to take another roadie out west or see them at MSG and The Rock, but that will depend on my schedule.
