Did a search, didn't see anything posted. Will delete if talked about

This past week, Cruz gave an update on his knee and the progress he's been making since the end of October after he got the surgery and gave great news to the fans who are hoping for that Beckham-Cruz duo in 2015.

"I'm feeling good. I have full range of motion in my knee and in about two weeks time, I'll begin running again," Cruz said.

he will be back, and with the emergence of OBJ and Randle, we won't need him to rush back.

we don't need another Steve Smith on our hands. does anybody know the difference between an ACL Tear recovery and a Patella Tear recovery? is there permanent damage with the patella?
I just hope he takes it easy

and doesn't rush and have any setbacks. As much as he loves to play, he's a hard guy to slow down.

But this is GREAT NEWS!!

Recovery & Prognosis:

Recovering from a torn patellar tendon is difficult and takes time. One of the most important prognostic factors for recovery is the time to surgery, and surgery delayed beyond a few weeks can limit recovery ability. It is known that early mobility after surgery, protected strengthening, and preventing excessive stress on the repair will speed overall recovery. Even with these steps, there is a minimum of 3 months until return of normal daily activities, and 4-6 months until sports should be resumed.

While most people heal completely from a patellar tendon surgery, there can be long-term weakness even with a successful repair.

I dont know the specifics about the differences, but from what everyone has said, a Patella injury is much more significant. There is a lesser chance of being fully recovered from a Patella tear than an ACL tear.
It's great that he is recovering and can walk. But he is still a

I hope so. The Giants have had some horrendous luck with major players and career ending injuries over recent years.

Reese's post season address of Cruz sounded eerily similar to what he said about David Wilson making a full recovery. Obviously different injuries, but Reese likely knows more detail about the injury than we do.
Same old same old
Chip : 1/22/2015 3:13 pm : link
Players are ready To play now then training camp comes and they're not ready. Then the season begins and they go on PUP. You can't count on him coming back.
If there are no setbacks
SGMen : 1/22/2015 3:42 pm : link
Cruz should be ready to participate in camp. My guess is they'll work him in slowly.

I see Cruz as our third wideout and slot guy this year behind OBJ and Randle.

Assuming we stay healthy in camp, we should be solid at the skill position(s) with TE Donnell and RB Williams rounding out the starters.

The OL needs that top UFA offensive guard to really beef up the middle where we struggled last year.
I am not even concerned if he loses a little speed
Matt M. : 1/22/2015 5:00 pm : link
To me, the most important thing will be the stability of the knee. This includes the actual physical stability and Cruz' mental ability to trust that stability. If his knee is sound, even with diminished speed, he will prove to be a very viable option in this offense. I can see him very similar to the giants Steve Smith.
I believe he will be 100 percent back

. Pretty sure Reese is doing that as a potent offense will save his and TC's job unless the NFL bails them out with more playoff spots.

I don't see how that's possible. Even if the surgery was perfect, I doubt he'd be at 100% by then. It's a roll of the dice on Cruz's health this draft.

all the experts on BBI.......all you can do is hope for the best.......basically, you have to doubt him being 100%, and plan accordingly.....if he beats the odds, then it's a huge bonus....
I've said this before, but what even is 100% of Cruz at this point?
Devon : 1/22/2015 10:28 pm : link
He was pretty bad in 2014 before getting injured and was mostly an average WR (with an above average rate of targets) in 2013 that showed signs of struggling even when teams weren't stacking attention to him.

A "full recovery" from the injury may not bring back 2011/2012 Cruz, even opposite Beckham. It very well may bring back an average to possibly even below average WR -- and that's partly why the team shouldn't be banking on him as anything more than cap space right now, when they're making moves this offseason.

But cutting, is another. And as another poster said Cruz's elusiveness is his greatest asset. It was a really serious injury, players do come back from it. I hope that the NYG go slow. Cruz is under a lucrative contract, so there is no need to rush it. At this point I'd consider Cruz 50/50 to start the season on PUP. I definitely think he'll start camp on PUP.

Very interested to know just how much they like their WR's not just for next year, but 2 years from now. Meaning, if they don't invest a pick in the top 4 rds I think they like some of the young talent they already have.

I'd like to give pretty much everyone on the offense a mulligan for 2013 and the first few games of 2014. Even Eli looked like crap.

I'm generally wary of reports like these
