NFT: Take it down

ODB13 : 1/23/2015 7:05 am
Got a letter that went all residents in my condo to take down their holiday decorations by this weekend or it will be a two hundred dollar fine.i happen to agree because whoever still has their decorations up this late into January is complete laziness. This month has not been bad and no snow so no excuses. I am amazed by the amount of people all around who still have their Christmas lights on.
I am surprised too

I've always felt like a week after New Years is pretty much the cutoff

Fair game until then, beyond that it starts to get silly. If you make it into February and still have them up and are still turning them on, it's ridiculous.
HA!
Jon : 1/23/2015 8:36 am : link
my outdoor decorations are still up. I really have to get on that.
at least I don't turn them on at night
Jon : 1/23/2015 8:36 am : link

If someone wants to leave their decorations up, why should anyone care???
All the interior stuff, tree etc. come down....

right after New Year's Day.
Outside lights are still up and on. Same with all of my immediate neighbors. I keep putting it off until neighbors take them down. Maybe they're waiting for me. :)
Guilty, as charged

I normally take it down around the second weekend in January, but this year a combination of being sick and the weather being shitty any time I had a few minutes free from work set me behind.

The inside stuff is all gone, of course, but outside we're still decorated. Hoping to have a few minutes clear that up today before it starts snowing tomorrow.
Self Entitled Chode.

The decorations stay up until the vodka runs out.

This is from a HOA
Matt M. : 1/23/2015 4:17 pm : link
Often, they want some level of uniformity on the exterior of their properties. the bylaws may even mandate some level of uniformity. This is probably done not just with the decorations in mind, but the exterior in general. holiday decorations are one of the few times in many HOA you are allowed to alter the exterior or the exterior appearance of your unit.
