NFT: Assassin's Creed...quick question

yankeeslover : 1/23/2015 9:31 am
So I am playing my first ever AC game... purchased Black Flag last night. I made it into Havana... I noticed on the map that there are money chest all around and also viewpoints where you can go and sycnronize. Can one just play the story mode as it plays out or are you required to run around first and collect all the extras on the map? I Spent one hour last night running around trying to find all the treasure chest and the sycronize view points and i have not even started the main mission yet. Is it ok to start the main mission first and skip everything else, or is it better to collect everything from the map first?
Also, once I beat a map or level, can you go back to it? the first part of the game was in the jungle before i found the ship. Am I able to go back to that jungle and find the treasure chest that I missed? thanks for the help..
You can play the main mission and do nothing else if that's

what you want to do. The side missions just add extra gameplay.
Thats a fun game.

The only AC I actually enjoyed.

Its an open world, so you can do whatever you want.
Black Flag is a really good game

put it down after 20 hours or so to play Fifa and Dragon Age, but i'll pick it up again one day. It easily has the best theme of all the AC games, IMO. Just a very interesting, and non-played out time period.
How does one go back to another level/map?

can i go back to the jungle from the start of the game?
you can play the main mission and then come back.
RappingFrog : 1/23/2015 10:01 am : link
but bringing up the world map by hitting start or select you can quick travel to any place you have been already.

Black Flag as a good game; enjoy.
I'm starting to think

Maybe you should just play Go Fish. It won't have you try to figure out much or have you make a decision.

Haha. I'm just busting your balls. I'm glad you picked Black Flag. Arguably the best in the franchise.

Really didn't care for that game. Had a lot of potential, but I feel it was wasted. Still my favorite one is the second one, but Black Flag was awesome. The setting was great and also was the story.

How is Unity after all the fixes? Is the storyline any good? I am tempted to pick it up, but the originally negative reviews, I am hesitant.

My son is into those Assassin Creed games, we have all of them.. I cant get into them... I love History but cant get past sync and desync nonsense
Unity's backdrop is gorgeous
UConn4523 : 1/23/2015 11:15 am : link
i haven't tried it yet but its installed and ready to go. Really want to just get into all the nuances of the city, almost don't care about the story.

You can play only the main missions, yes. The way that I did it with Unity was I took care of the primary missions at first and then little by little did all of the side missions and chest hunting. The synchronization of the viewpoints are just so you can open up the map and find other places. I like to open up the map at first or along the way with an Assassin's Creed or a game like Infamous. And to go back to anther world in Black Flag I think you can fast travel but you have had to been there and remember too that synchronization can help you with fast travel and getting around the map quicker just in case you don't want to run around. Unity was OK but it had way too many glitchy problems.
How does this one compare to the

Revolutionary War version? I've played neither, but wanted to pick up one of the two.

I hated AC III. I don't know if it's because it came out the day Sandy happened and I didn't get to enjoy it like I should've around that time but AC III WAS a complete disappointment. the game felt like one big tutorial, "THIS IS HOW YOU WALK".... Too much shenanigans in that one I felt.

Black Flag = Far Superior. I love that game
And Black Flag would be fun
Matt M. : 1/23/2015 4:35 pm : link

It as for me. I haven't got tired of exploring the maps and capturing ships. I am sure I will at some point, but still running through side mission 2 weeks after beating the game.
all the way on the top right I believe
eli4life : 1/23/2015 5:01 pm : link
On the edge of the map the is a secret place and you get s couple extras
also you would probably like watchdogs
eli4life : 1/23/2015 5:03 pm : link
It should be cheaper now as well
I tried to like AC
Audible : 1/23/2015 5:18 pm : link
I tried really, really hard, but I can't do it. Mostly boring missions, possibly the worst hand-to-hand combat of any AAA title I've ever played, game design whose main goal seems to be filling a world with as much "stuff" to collect as possible and hoping the player will invent his/her own reasons to hunt down every last god damn feather, consistently awful frame rates... it's a shame, because the settings are some of my favorite settings in all of modern video games, and if I didn't get the distinct sense that the game designers were actively trying to bore me to tears, I would play through those games just to look at things.

So basically, I want Assassin's Creed photo mode.

I heard watchdogs was pretty good. What game would you compare it to? I'll read reviews now.
yeah the missions
Route 9 in LEH : 1/23/2015 6:01 pm : link
on AC are so god damn repetitive and boring. I hate when you have to race somebody or you have to chase somebody down. Lame.

Kinda reminds me of gta but different if that makes any sense
Stay away from Watch Dogs.
LawrenceTaylor56 : 1/23/2015 9:01 pm : link
It was a colossal failure.

how you coming along on Black Flag? I've picked back up Unity after letting it sit for a few months. Seems to be the patches are fixed. It's another great game. I liked the whole aspect of sailing and being a pirate so I'm partial to Black Flag. But you'll also like Unity.
