BREAKING: Klay Thompson sets NBA record for points in a quarter:
- 37 Pts
- 13-13 FG
- 9-9 3-pt FG
He outscored the Kings 37-22 in the 3rd qtr....WOW
I was at the Sleepy Floyd playoff game vs the Lakers in 1987 when he scored 29 in the 4th qtr.
Floyd still holds the NBA playoff record for points scored in a quarter (29) and in half (39), in game 4 of the 1987 Western Conference Semifinals against the Los Angeles Lakers. Floyd scored 12 consecutive field goals in the fourth quarter, finishing the game with 51 points, and prevented a sweep of the Warriors by in-state rival Lakers.
And the Kings took Jimmer Fredette one pick before Klay was taken
Klay was going to be this good lol he was a solid player at Washington St, but only averaged 17 points, 2 assists and 4 rebounds per game for his career. Dude is playing out of his mind now. I'm happy for him and Steph both cool as hell.
& lethal with a shot that he can launch in a fraction of a second. Gottlieb strongly suggested he was soft when he was playing at Wazu. Yeah, soft. Gottlieb is soft, if you know what I mean. My favorite teams of relevance are the Warriors and Portland. Watch them whenever I can.
Literally, laugh out loud. I mean seriously, I laughed out loud.
I had the same reaction. I was literally laughing out loud as he continued to hit shot after shot. And as the quarter went on, everyone knew it was going to him. The Warriors kept feeding him, the Kings knew they were going to, and they still couldn't stop him. I think he went 12 for 12, and he would have added another three-pointer if the Kings hadn't fouled him first. Amazing.
It should. They're the top-rated defensive team as well as offensive. And although they rely a lot on jump shots on offense, they move the ball pretty well and have a deep bench.
The real key is Bogut and if he's healthy. His defense and rebounding on the low block is key, and they don't really have anyone who can do what he does. If he's out, they can be beaten by a team with size like the Clippers.

He also passes the ball extremely well and sets devastating, swallowing screens. He's definitely a major cogs to whom stats don't do justice.
It was surreal.....just an incredible display.
