When does Goodell get called to the carpet?

Vin_Cuccs : 1/24/2015 2:57 pm
Not to bring up the deflation issue yet again, but I think I am more annoyed and frustrated with Roger Goodell than the Patriots.

When does Goodell get reprimanded? When does Goodell get called to the carpet? His actions as NFL commissioner have been questionable at best. Is he going to kill the golden goose that is the NFL?

Goodell has been the NFL commissioner since September 1, 2006.

Since he has been in office:

2011 NFL lockout
2012 referee lockout
Ray Rice domestic abuse situation
Adrian Peterson child abuse situation
New Orleans bounty program scandal
New England video taping scandal
officiating rule changes (illegal contact, pass interference, defensive holding unnecessary roughness etc.)
Brain damage/concussion/CTE lawsuit
New England football deflation scandal

His handling of these situations has been flawed including this most recent deflation scandal. He has handled several situations poorly.

I get that he makes the owners money but is he really improving the game? I can make an argument that he is making it worse!

Damn, I miss Tagliabue.
Maybe it's just me

But every time I hear that Goodell is going to kill the NFL, I kind of chuckle. The NFL has grown by leaps and bounds under his watch. It's never been more popular and revenue grows every year despite any scandals.

I'm not trying to defend the guy but isn't he really just a puppet for the owners anyway?
Buy who?

Goodell works for the owners and he is making them lots of money.

We may see him as a bumbling idiot who is ruining the game(I don't go quite this far but I'm certainly no fan)but he is keeping revenue up.
Theyre putting everything off

till after the SB when no one is really paying attention anymore. Its a tried and true strategy
What has he done

to make the game better or more profitable than any BBIer could do as Commish?
The game would have been successful on its own during his reign, maybe except for pumping London, and he's been balls-less this season given the 2 abuse incidents, especially RR, which I am sure any BBIer would have handled better.
I know the reality is he is the puppet, but you would think owners would at lesst make a public gesture to chastise him, then turn around and wink at him.
Teflon?
When the owners get sick of him

And that might be soon.
Goodell made the owners money.

Come on, half of America could make the NFL money. It's a juggernaut.
If you ask me..

it seems more like people try to blame Goodell for things that should be blamed on their rightful parties.

Hell, to some, Goodell is more responsible for the Ray Rice incident than Rice himself.

The guy can't win. If he tries to do things for player safety, people say he's pussifying the game, but then when he talks about extending the regular season, people say he doesn't give a shit about the players.

It's almost like Goodell becomes the buffer for people to bitch about, even when he isn't even the one people should bitch at.

Dont forget the scumbag also destroyed all the spy-gate evidence. How the hell does that happen and why?
Honestly

I've never understood why people got so upset that Goodell destroyed the Spygate tapes. Once the investigation was concluded, what purpose did they serve that they needed to be kept around? Does anybody think that he should've released them for public scrutiny?

I can imagine Pats fans think its weird because they think that, if the tapes were made public, it would leave them some elbow room to argue that the contents of what was taped were trivial, and the team didn't deserve to be punished. But I don't see why anyone else would really care.
Honestly?

The guy is both judge and jury. Give me a break.
The Federal government

needs to step in and strip their not for profit status and start making them pay their fair share of corporate taxes. These guys from the commissioner to the owners are like a crime syndicate, especially the ones that grab the corporate welfare and have taxpayers buy their stadiums and debt for them.

Beacuse its incredibly misleading especially when there are rumors that it was worse than reported. Now this, with the same team, and he hasn't said a word.

People say he's the owners puppet; if you actually think that then you aren't paying attention. This guy beats to his own drum and he's done a deploravle job. The NFL making money is akin the the Hunger Games generating a billion dollars, it means absolutely nothing.
