On the South team? Northern Iowa is less than 100 miles from Minnesota.
They want the best players so you cannot always have the perfect geographical balance. Also I think they try to spread the small school players evenly between the teams because there tends to be far more FCS and below from schools that would geographically be on the North team if you went strictly by geography
Misses a sure tackle for loss and D. Johnson scores with a 19 yd running TD.
How many guys his size would have even been in a position to make that tackle. He missed sure but the fact he had to run to the sideline some fifteen yards through blocks was impressive

His technique looked good. He strung his blocker out, parallel down the line of scrimmage. He did miss the tackle. Nothing malicious. Just stating what happened.
He had more ups than downs during senior bowl practice. I wonder what round he'll last in the draft. Granted I know nothing of his body of work during the season at Duke.
Giants love those blocking TES. If he can catch a bit he'd be a nice option too.
Boyle needs to go from the Blue Hens to Big Blue. 267 lbs and a helluva blocker. Team captain. From NJ. He can catch too. 101 catches and 12 TDs in his career. Good, big hands. Sneaky athleticism. I expect him to run in the low 4.7s and wouldn't be shocked if he gets into the 4.6s. Without question a top 5 TE in this class.
Preston Smith, DE, Mississippi. Looks to be a first rounder.
Carl Davis, DT, Iowa looks like a starter. Stout and quick. NFL comparison would be Kevin Williams.
Henry Anderson, DE Stanford looks to be a good developmental guy, that could play his rookie year. Nice lean, quick first step.. I think he's a day two pick as well. Third rounder.
The speed rushers aren't really flashing.
The Norhwestern Safety, looks good in coverage.
Best DB on field though, tooks to be TCU corner Kevin White. Very aware in coverage with great body position. He's running the routes for some of these guys.
Obviously a smart kid but when you can also line up at RB, FB, block for the QB, catch the football out of the backfield and play special teams, I got a jersey for you. Solid build too.
AND WHAT I DID EARLY, NO ONE IMPRESSED ME.
What BBI favorites are doing well?
A few I liked:
David Varga, RB, Yale
Almost all of the RBs
Both Iowa DT's
Donovan Smith, OT, Penn St
Laken Tomlinson, OG, Duke
Rob Havenstein, OT, Wisconsin
Ali Marpet, OG, Hobart
Steven Nelson, CB, Oregon St.
Quinton Rollins, DB, Miami (OH)
Rannell Hall, WR, Central Florida
He was stout.. flowed well too the ball for a two gapper. He's a 3-4 nose from what I saw.
If we stay in the same 4-3 scheme, Carl Davis, DT from Iowa fits us much better. He's was living in the South's backfield with quickness, hand usage, and great punch. He was rag dolling OG's.
Preston Smith, DE out of Mississippi State looked very good as well. He looked like a starting strongside end.. if he is their in the second when we pick.. he fits the giants mold. 6'4.5", with great wingspan, and has an inside and outside rush.
The RT he was working against, Rob Havenstein, was a mountain. He needs some time, but is a pro player.
Agreed. The game is just a glorified scrimmage. One of the last 3 football games I'll watch this season. Now I'm sad.

Carl Davis, looks better than Shelton. He may not be doubled however. SHelton has been doubled all game.
Marpet is a nice athlete. Pulling guard. Nice Mobility. Lakinson, G out of Duke hasn't been Challenged.
The Miss State, DE Preston Smith is Stout. Starting strongside end from day one.

Yeah, somewhat. Tiki might have been a little taller.
Preston Smith exposing TJ Clemmings with an inside rush.
Norther Iowa RB Davis looks to be an day two pick.
With all these teams playing the spread its really hard to see where the next wave of NFL ready QBs come from.

and I can't forget Nick Boyle, TE, Delaware

Other guys mentioned with the giants, DB josh shaw out of USC looked very rusty.
The CB from Oregon State, Steven Nelson, looked ready to start.
