NFT: Anyone own a steam shower?

JesseS : 1/25/2015 9:26 pm
I am building a master bathroom in my bedroom. We don't have an incredible amount of space but we're hoping to have a shower and tub combo. I don't have much interest in the whirlpool aspect, and while I don't mind soaking, we would need a tub to bathe the little ones. This would allow us to get rid of our tub next to the kitchen (odd place!) and put a washer and dryer in its place.

We were originally thinking a plain corner tub, tile the walls and put in a shower unit, but it seems to look crappy since there aren't too only things that don't look awkward when converting it to a shower. We also were hoping it would be something neat to the next buyer, since we will probably sell in the next 5 years.

My coworker loves his steam shower and said I should look at them. I saw corner units with tubs for two with shower and steam (we both have wicked sinuses) for around 2200. Obviously would make labor a lot easier and I could focus on the rest of the bathroom? I realize they won't hold their value in a dozen years, but has anyone gotten to use one or have on in their home? Love to get first hand info.
Don't have one

But have been in health club steam rooms and I can't stand them. Can't breathe in them. You might want to try one somewhere if you haven't used one before you invest.
The steam is on demand

they're not the same. Steam is an on demand sort of thing.
