I hadnt watched the Pro Bowl in years. Tuned in at the start and quickly realized why I dont watch. This is a joke! But I nervously kept checking into BBI hoping I didnt see a thread about an injury!
this is the first Pro Bowl I have watched in years and it was only for OBJ..
Likewise, but they could've had OBJ kicking soccer balls and I would've tuned in for that too, had absolutely nothing to do with the Pro Bowl and the ridiculous format they went with.
didn't watch the game but I saw a clip of one of the catched he made
Robert Edwards...he did play again but wasn't the same:
Edwards was chosen by the New England Patriots in the first round of the 1998 NFL Draft. He rushed for 1,115 yards for the Patriots in the 1998 National Football League season, before blowing out his knee at an NFL rookie flag football game in Hawaii during Pro Bowl week. Edwards barely escaped the injury without having his leg amputated below the knee, and he was told he might not walk again.[1]
Edwards would not play football again until 2002, when he made his return with the Miami Dolphins. In his first game back, against the Detroit Lions, Edwards caught a touchdown pass and ran for another score. He spent the rest of the season sharing third-down back duties with fellow running back Travis Minor. After the season, he lost his spot on the roster to Leonard Henry. Edwards was awarded the Pro Football Writers Association Halas Award for his comeback from his serious injury.
but as you posted, it wasn;'t in the game. They wisely have eliminated all this extracurricular bullshit. And the players all play like it's 7 on 7. The injury fear is a little overrated. But I'm still thrilled OBJ is ok because him adjusting his pads after that catch had me terrified he was hurt...
that it looked like Beckhma had no interest in anything because he just sat on the becnh and didn't high five his teammates during games and just sat on the bench looking disinterested. Oh man, only on BBI.

That's when a bunch of idiots here were calling him Becky for not playing with a gashed hamstring. Good times...
he adjusted his pant legs, I was worried he was reaching for his hamstring. I was happy to see most of the defensive players had very little interest in tacking (other than Von Miller and Elvis Dumervil who both seemed to be going close to full speed).
not entertaining at all and what's this crap about Ivin and Carter's teams. How ridiculous is that? And to put Irvin's name, one of the dumbest ex-player and NFL commentators ever to the name of a nationally televised game is well...STUPID!
I watched the first 2 minutes of the game and turned it off. I won't be watching any more. Completely meaningless and the players weren't even into the game that much.
I recall the game against Washington this past season. The Giants were up by 11 with less than two minutes to play and the Skins were forced to punt. The Special Teams coach sent Beckham out to return the punt. I'm thinking, is this coach crazy? The game's already won. One more reason to dismiss Quinn. You could tell Beckham thought his being out there was nuts. He made a half-hearted attempt to field the punt, and then stepped aside with touching it.
I've heard over and over that players are likely to get hurt when they are not going all out. The NFL needs to replace this game with the 2 losing teams in the conference games fighting for something valuable.
That would be watchable. I just don't know what the reward could be. It would have to benefit the team & players to win.
If not, just take the week off or move the Superbowl back a week like it belongs.
It's pretty moronic that practices and drills are being outlawed in
training camp due to "player safety concerns", yet the top players in the league risk injury playing in a meaningless exhibition after 16 games (18 for some).

On the bright side, neither team was named "Sapp".

I almost watched it because of the same.

Now he can proceed to heal up those torn hammies and tear up the NFL next year at 100%(+/-).
