too bad it's only an NFL channel though. I really wish the NFL and MLB would adopt the NBA's mindset to YouTube.
MLB actually posted full games of every game from 2014 a month ago that you can watch if you want.
Still, as Greg said (and as I know as well as anyone), I would love if they posted their old games. But odds are they will tiptoe into this thing and just post highlight snippets.
What do they have to lose by allowing people to watch 20+ year old games? What money are they losing? Are they worried about how superior those broadcasts were to the dreck they show today?
But I was referring to the NBA being ok with random fans posting old school videos.
I would love it if the NFL would allow people like you and others to post old school Giants videos on their own. And not only Giants vids but old school vids of all teams.
They post replays of the daily round table discussions on hot talking debates such as jonny football and deflated footballs and why RG3 can be a pro bowl QB one day or why Michael Irvin thinks romo is a hof QB. Because let's be honest here, that's what the people want.
Tell me this new channel won't devolve into that shit.

Greg,
As with everything and the NFL, it comes down to money. They are probably not sure how to best monetize it and what the real $$ they are talking about to do it. This is a a multi billion dollar corporation, they will want it to be worth their while to release this stuff. And I'm sure there are contractual issues to work out with the players association, the broadcast networks, etc. They would have to edit it down to remove some old promotional content, and that takes time and money.
So while for the fans it would be great to release these tapes, until the NFL figures out how to get the best bang for their buck, they will ignore a revenue stream and just sick their lawyers on youtube to shut down old games under the umbrella of copyright.
I have already offered up my own personal plea and thoughts to some in the NFL and at the Giants as well. I know that members of the Giants organization reads my old reviews and like them a great deal and have spoken with a few of them. But this thing is in the hands of the league and the lawyers, and they are pushing for international expansion and sponsorships and the like, and games from the 1980s aren't high on their agenda, even though the fans would love it.
promos for "Murder She Wrote" hit the air again unless they're getting a cut.
you forgot his dramatic pause between Murder....she wrote ;) However, if you go back and watch the DVDs that are sold of the games, particularly from the 1986 and 1990 season, they cut out ads for beer sponsors, fast food, cameras, etc. That's part of the real concern.
Channel on the XBOX 1 .They were putting up season highlights from the 50's to the 90's ( No Giants seasons of course ) but now they seemed to have stopped doing it ..
