Rick Gosselin's Special Teams rankings...

RG does this every year. Giants up to 25th place from 28th. Eagles are #1, unsurprisingly.

I'm truely surprised...

there are 7 teams worse than the Giants. The Mighty Quinn is made of teflon (or he has good pictures).
Look how many of the top 10 units made the playoffs.

Meanwhile...we're miles away.
Yeah...

the Packers are the surprise. They were dead last, and if not for a specail teams choke, they are in the Super Bowl.

True, but the bottom two also made it!
The Ravens consistently

have one of the best Special Teams units in the league.
Seemingly, the Giants' management

decided that the STs woes are not a result of poor coaching, which infers that it was mostly a talent issue. That could certainly be backed by our lack of depth at LB and safety and some other positions we see on coverage and kicks.
There has to be more to this than
Coach Mason : 1/26/2015 2:02 pm : link
he's doing an 'acceptable' job. Giants are loyal but this is just flat out tunnel vision regarding Quinn.
Losing Cooper Taylor and Walter Thurmond to injuries

had a major impact on special teams coverage units. Agree in some respects that it is a lack of talent on specials..
Talent of course plays a role, but

can you blame talent eight seasons in a row? The Giants STs have ranked (by Football Outsiders analysis) a below average 19th in the league during Quinn's tenure, including seasonal rankings of 26th (2009), 28th (2013) and 30th(2010).
We're 25th Whoo-hoo!

Not to mention blaming talent when you don't have the hands-team on the field, or when an opponent takes advantage of a flaw and you don't correct it, or getting caught flat footed on fakes.
