NFT: Tech Experts: calibrating a TV

Just got a brand new 50inch Smart TV. Was wondering if anyone knows how to correctly calibrate it to fully maximize the picture quality in regards to gaming and Blu Rays?

Note when calibrating that some TVs have different settings per input

So if you calibrate with a Bluray disk you may only be calibrating for that input. You may need to calibrate for each input individually.

I freely admit that I know nothing about calibrating a TV. However,

if a TV can't calibrate itself, does it really deserve to be called a "smart TV?"

may work for you, it's important to note that there may be variations in panels used within the same product line. Samsung is notorious for this. The different panels would require differant calibration settings.

My tv isn't listed on those AVS forums.

Jcn, says that Disney dvd is 4 hours long. Does it really take that long?
