Worst Giant You've Ever Seen Play

MichiganNYGFan : 1/28/2015 12:56 pm
Who is the worst Giant you've ever seen play? Dumb penalties, getting burned always, just sucking. Now I'm far from any type of football guru, but one player that really stood out to me as the worst I've seen was 2009 CC Brown. I just remembered him constantly getting burned, or a crucial personal foul that cost us dearly. I remember him being ultra bad against the Lions that year. And when the Panthers blew us out in the final game at Giants Stadium. Vikings too. Now I've only been a Giants fan since 2005 when I was 12 so maybe there's a guy in the 90s that blew harder but I'll just open up the discussion with that. Fuck CC Brown.

I thought Daryl Jones was the worst Giant I saw...

for a guy, who came from The U when they were considered the greatest college football team, he was about the worst Giants player I've seen (not only the worst receiver).

was Frank Walker. The guy had talent but was a walking penalty. I remember Fassel having to tackle him in his final game with the Giants just to keep him from getting a taunting penalty.

You're making me feel old. There were times in the '70s when every player on offense, except for Dave Jennings, was worse than C.C. Brown was.

People rag on Fassell and Reeves but from 1971 to 1980 the Giants never had more than six wins. And for a lot of that time, the defense was pretty good to excellent. The offenses were beyond awful.
Dave Thomas

Is my winner, worst DB I've ever seen. I can't recall his name but the TE we took from BC who was a friend of the Maras is a VERY close second. Honorable mention goes to Greg Bishop, Wayne Lucier, Omar Douglas, Thomas Lewis and half of the people who were forced on poor Jim Fassel.

when all was said and done.

Dayne and William Joseph, given their draft picks, need to be in the discussion regarding value.

You mean Todd Pollack? Does he count, since he never made the team?

You're right, Fassel did a pretty good job when you consider how many horrible players he was saddled with. The guys you mentioned, Leshon Johnson, Kevin Alexander, Lance Scott, Willie Beamon, Joe Montgomery, Sean Bennett....
Agree With Retro on Tom Kennedy,
clatterbuck : 1/28/2015 1:19 pm : link
he was a semi-pro player who was pulled in off the street to play QB against the Rams. I wouldn't put Walker Gillette or even Pete Athas in this category, though. Considering what he cost us, I'd nominate Craig Morton. What a bum.
Damn
MichiganNYGFan : 1/28/2015 1:19 pm : link
all players I've barely even heard of. Wish I would have been around to see the 80's teams. Even the 70's teams too because a heavy dosage of suck-ness would have just made seeing the Giants get back to the top in the 2000's that much better

Was that Derek Brown? I was thinking of the guy, but couldn't recall the position (was stuck on John Markham, another 'hey, we heard he was a good guy or something like that' pick).

LeShon Johnson probably had the worst vision of any RB I've seen here. The guy would just go full bore into offensive linemen. Could not find running lanes to save his life.
Matt Dodge is the correct answer

Pisarcik was terrible.

Lewis Tillman, the RB who tried to hold the throne between Joe Morris and Rodney Hampton, was pretty hilarious.

Tillman? What?
Greg from LI : 1/28/2015 1:25 pm : link
Tillman was a rookie the year before Hampton. He was a solid backup RB.

Yep. All that speed but he ran like he was wearing horse blinders. He would just plow into linemen's backs over and over again.

Pretty sure that was the guy. Couldn't hit a hole to save his life. If he was any good would they have spent a first on Hampton the very next year?...Bet a million he's still trying to have his first kid...

Tillman was a mid-round pick who was a good backup to Hampton and played well when Hampton was hurt in 1993. Was he a star? Of course not, but he's nowhere near the conversation when it comes to worst Giants.
