two types of threads on any forum: Info threads and opinion threads. While one often morphs into the other and creates a mix, I genereally prefer info threads.
that one thing I cannot stand on a forum or in real life conversation for that matter, is when someone asks an expert in a given field for advice and then argues with them about it. Just nod and say thank you even if you dont 100% agree.

Any political, current events about race issues (see Trayvon Martin, Brown), missing planes, and that does include current football topics that include scandals such as Penn State, and other array of topics like Manti Teos, Richie Incognito, and deflate-gate. Boring. I grasped the concept of what happened in 5 seconds, I don't need to open a 7 page thread and read everyone's back and forth banter. I'd add pro football focus but at least it's somewhat of an attempt to contribute to football talk. And yeah, basketball threads are also a no-no.
