NFT: Invisalign, anybody get it?

djl8699 : 1/29/2015 9:55 am
My teeth aren't bad but there's a space between the front two that I want to close up, as well as adjust the adjacent teeth on both sides. I'm thinking of getting Invisalign instead of the traditional braces, anybody ever try it? If so, how effective was it? Was it a worthwhile investment?

Thanks in advance.
I am also curious as my bottom

teeth are crooked.
I know of two people who

had it. It worked very well but was apparently more expensive than traditional braces.

A HUGE fan of the product. And I had it much later in life.

What area do you live? There is an incredibly good specialist in Bergen County that charges about half of other dentists I had researched.
Hey Yankee,

I would love to know the name as the costs has been prohibitive to me for some time now.

Thanks!
I got traditional braces
eclipz928 : 1/29/2015 11:52 am : link
and then got the invisalign as my retainer after the braces were removed (included in the price). I think most orthodontist would recommend metal braces if there are significant gaps that need to be closed as opposed to just straightening. Also, i think the metal braces also correct overbite - not sure if the invisalign does that.

Either way, if youre thinking about it go ahead and pull the trigger. There's nothing more lifting to your self-esteem than getting your smile the way you want it to be. Expensive, but worth it.

Closing gaps is so overrated.
For $5000 I'll keep my one crooked tooth and fix my fireplace. =;-P

My doctor was

Dr. Steven Liao
147 Main Street
Suite 7
Lodi, NJ
862.247.8030

He charges $3,000 and my insurance paid almost 2/3. I had other quotes of $6,200 and $5,600

The office is in the Shop Rite shopping complex. 2nd floor above the Valley National Bank and H & R Block.

I think $3000 is about the average price you should expect
eclipz928 : 1/29/2015 12:11 pm : link
to pay for teeth correction. How much your insurance covers will vary depending on your plan. My insurance covered half of the costs. Shouldn't cost you anything just for the consultation to go over your options and price.
thanks yankee! hope you've been well sir

It didn't like it....I would go with the clear braces it'll get it done right the first time.....you need to wear them 22 hours a day and take them out to eat....real pain....
Thanks guys

I think I'll be making that first appointment soon. I'm in the Hudson County area, but Bergen is right next door.
I have it

I have four months left. No problems so far
Both my daughters

Amazing product. Quickly and completely straightened out my daughters teeth, including expanding my little ones palate. Amazing when you look at the time lapse pics.
Wife got it
rebel yell : 1/29/2015 3:19 pm : link
and loved it. Straightened everything out. Not cheap, but she's worth it for putting up with my shit!
Yes, got it a few years ago
SomeFan : 1/29/2015 5:13 pm : link
and it works for sure. My dentist claimed I needed them to preclude problems in the future. A bit of bullshit I think but got them anyway.

That is way lower than the average price you should expect. Invisalign is limited in what it can do compared to regular braces, but is a nice alternative for selected use. It is a process to move teeth, you don't have braces and then an "Invisalign retainer" as someone mentioned.
