sea someday.....but I love Bill Belichick and I despise the Seahawks, their piped-in crowd noise and perpetually aggrieved fans, Pete Carroll and Russell Wilson. They didn't deserve to win last week, and I think they're going to get waxed in this one.
Everybody has a preference. Some guys like them round. Some guys like them thin. Some guys like them tacky. Some guys like them brand new. Some guys like old balls." -Brady
First, BB was a major Giants contributor and never went to work for the enemy like the Cowboys. Second, I cannot stand Seattle with the piped in music as mentioned above. Third, I would still like to say to the antiReese crowd that no other GM has the 2 rings the way he does. Fourth, NE beating an NFC team makes the Giants wins even sweeter. Fifth, the NE Rutgers connection.
Would this be the same Seattle team that required a recovered onsides kick to squeak by a hobbled Aaron Rodgers in an NFC title game played on their home field? Whose QB played like complete dogshit for four quarters?
to the Giants, but, seriously, fuck him. I don't see any reason to root for him to win a 4th SB. He hasn't been a Giant for 25 years, I think his statute of limitations has run out with Giants fans.
which is rooting interest enough for me. Also, can't stand Pete Carroll who is an arrogant jerk, can't stand the borderline illegality of crowd noise in Seattle, and my sense Carroll coaches his team to play just outside the rules and gets way with it. I hope the Pats crush them.
Pete Carroll is an asshole and Bill Belichick was an indispensable
you can't ever root for the Pats because of their fans. 2005 was soul crushing for me when it was Philly-NE. Obviously I had to root for NE then, but I felt dirty about it. As long as they aren't playing an NFC east rival, I will always root against the Pats.
The two points I'm still struggling with, from a "best for the Giants franchise perspective" are:
1) If Seattle wins, the Patriots are still stuck at 3 SB wins.
2) If the Patriots win, a first ballot HOF coach with a first ballot HOF QB were 4-0 against 4 different NFC teams over a 14 year span, and yet were 0-2 against the Coughlin/Eli led Giants including having a 18-0 season spoiled.
after Deflategate it swayed me a bit, just seemed strange, the whole thing, Belichick becoming a physics professor etc., so going with the Seahawks. Also, have fond memories of folks in my Boston office saying how lucky we were in both our Super Bowl wins against the Pats. So, go lose three Super Bowls in a row, you filthy animals..
I don't like Brady..Whenever he pops in my head, I hear that, "we're only gonna score 17 points? Hehhehheh..Okay.."
...I smile and remember the final score.
Any NE hate I might have had was erased in SB XLII and XLVI
Now, I want the Pats to win every SB they're in that they're not facing the Giants so long as BB and TB are there so the only blemish is at the hands of Eli and Co.
It's a no-brainer to root for Seattle for the following reason: LEGACY
*5 tied for 4th with 1 SB championship
-Tampa Bay: (2002)
-Rams: (1999)
-Colts: (2006)
-Saints: (2009)
-Seattle: (2013)
If Seattle wins SB 49, then the Giants still maintain their hold on that streak. If NE wins SB 49, then they'll equal the Giants' hold on SB titles since SB 21.
Add in the Boston factor, the overall douchiness of the Pats, and the whole cheating aura, and they don't deserve to be up there w/the Giants. Eff em. Seattle is just a ship passing in the night. Let them repeat. They won't keep this streak up. The cap monster will gobble them up once Wilson's extended at an astronomical rate. It'll completely change the face of their team. They won't win be able to win another title again for years, and when they're ready gain, Caroll will be probably be gone.
Adding another W to the Parcells coaching tree would be huge.
I admire excellence. And I belive this run by the Pats the last 15 years is the greatest in NFL history. Going to 6 SBs in 13 years is just unimaginable in this economic era.
I wouldn't be able to deal those mouth breathing fans all off season. IMO, they're worse than Red Sox fans, fuck them I don't want them having the same amount of Super Bowl trophies as the Giants.
RE: I don't want the Pats to have as many SB wins as the Giants,
That's all I care about in the end. It's my (borderline unhealthy) obsession with NFL sports. I don't want any NFL team to have as many or more super bowl titles than NYG.
The Niners, Cowboys and Steelers have more. Packers have four. Pats have three. Lets keep the Pats at 3 and pray the Giants catch the leaders over the next 5 years or so...sound good? good..thanks.
Married to a diehard Pats fan and living in Boston area...

You admire excellence when it doesn't encroach on the Giants legacy. Smarten up! The fact that you weren't willing every ounce of your energy towards Dallas losing 3 weeks ago scares me.
So am I, but Magary is the best...
Sorry Cippy

What the hell does that have to do with Giants fans?
and revert to rooting for the Cowboys as soon as
the franchise hits a rough spot
* Personally tired of Brady
* Their fans are beginning to remind me of Cowboy fans
* Don't like any cheaters even minor ones
* If everything was equal I usually would prefer the NFC win
