A good month for video games coming up. Be excited!
The actual prompt for this thread is that I saw the announced games for PlayStation Plus for February and it is ridiculous:
Apotheon (which is a brand new release) and
Transistor for PS4, Thief and Yakuza 4 (one of my favorite games ever) for PS3, Rogue Legacy for all platforms. But even if you don't have PS Plus, it's a good month - The Order: 1886, Evolve, and The Witcher 3 all come out this month.
But I won't be playing any of those games next week, nor am I playing Costume Quest or my Persona 4 The Golden New Game Plus or NBA2K15 or anything else, because I'm playing Grim Fandango and it is glorious.
What are y'all playing?
Yeah, I was working off a crowdsourced release date list that appears to be out of date. So... yeah. Still a pretty decent month for AAA by normal February standards, although I guess XB1 is pretty barren outside of Evolve.
For those of you who don't have a PS4, Grim Fandango is also on PC. If you like adventure games at all (I mean even a tiny bit) it is an absolute must-buy. Great writing, great art direction, great puzzles, great soundtrack. It's incredible.

That sounds awesome.

There is no PS4 version. There was a brief period of time where MGS4 could be played on a PS4 via PlayStation Now (Sony's cloud-based rental service), but it's since been taken down, which suggests there may be a remaster collection coming down the pipe someday. But right now? No, you need a PS3.

Sniper Elite III is going to be a bargain buy for me at some point if it doesn't get a PS Plus release - it looks fun but it's not the type of game I normally play. I'd take a flyer on it at $10 but I don't have time to play even half the games I want to play.
I've been messing around with Dragon Age: Origins, with the thought of playing through all of the first 2 while waiting for patches, DLC, and a price drop on the new one.
I'm assuming my drunken 30 minutes with the tutorial isn't a fair shake and that I need to man up and spend a few hours with this game right?
Threads get archived if nobody posts in them for a certain period of time (I think it's one week).

Eh... maybe? I think Minecraft and games of that ilk either appeal to you or they don't. It's probably worth a second look but I wouldn't spend hours on it waiting for something to click. I'm not a big fan of building / crafting, either.
If you want to dip into the indie pool (which makes sense - there are great indies in every genre and independent development is as strong as it's ever been), I can probably make some suggestions if you have a good feel for what it is that you like about games and can specify what machines you own.
Filth, you serious? Any good new content mods? Anything come of Skywind?
