Had the Giants been a competitive team this year and made it to the Super Bowl, would Eli have left the team for the birth? For a third kid, probably not :-p

That's actually pretty interesting. I wonder what the hell would happen. I'd assume he'd play, but what if it was day of, or the day before?

Isn't that Richard Sherman's situation right now? I've read he'll skip the SB if the baby comes that day. (But I can't vouch for the accuracy of that.)
Guys don't do shit at childbirth. They are there for support, but they are not the only ones who can offer support. If a wife or baby momma feel that dad has to be there instead of the SB (or other major professional commitment) they totally suck.

Uh, maybe they want the joy of watching their child be born? Maybe it's not just about helping in the birth, but witnessing one of the greatest moments in life?

Isn't this something that Sherman is or was facing? I know his girlfriend is due any minute with their first child. Did she give birth already?
Yup three weddings he has to pay for. Ugh

I mean Andy Dalton? Really?

Dalton was ahead of him on the alternate list, as was Tannehill (he was ahead of Newton, so there's that, I guess).
I'm sure he'd have chosen not to go if offered, but it wasn't offered.

if Giants hypothetically made the Super Bowl this year
and probably 20 to catch Cromartie.

Peyton has a potential in one of his fraternal twins. Is there any doubt we'll be reading about him someday as a QB?
