To me doesn't really seem like he needs to ask for his release, that was going to happen anyways. 30 years old coming off ACL injury and scheduled to make 3.1mil, sounds like a serious release candidate to me.

Maybe this was a smart business decision by him and his agent, they know he will be released so instead of it looking like what it is, now it looks like it was his choice.

I'm pretty sure Mike Iupati would make a really shitty safety. Maybe we should sign him to play guard instead.

he has always been terrible in coverage and now he is coming off an injury and he is old.
