is Delroy Lindo, whoi I like but haven't seen in a movie since maybe Get Shorty or something like that.
My response to this is, "Why?!" but not for the same reason as some here. It was a fun movie to watch when you're like 20. But, it was a shitty movie, so who really gives a shit if they remake it? The new one will probably suck too.
Bwahaha I loved spending Saturday nights as a kid watching Roadhouse on the USA Network and if I was lucky Silk Stalkings lol
I first saw Roadhouse with my grandmother. She was a Sicilian matriarch from Palermo who was as old school as it gets. Needless to say it wasn't her favorite movie.
Me and my brother also dragged her to see Stripes when it first came out in the theaters.
I'm surprised our throats were not slit during the mud wrestling scene.
I don't have any hopes for this but I'll watch it, Winstone is the man.
I'd rather watch someone just wear a Swayze mask as the Bodhi role, in fact every movie should have one character in a Swayze mask, it should be the new blackface.
and I bet everyone who hates remakes and reboots watched and enjoyed the Batman movies.
some don't. Remaking a cult classic...not a good idea. Remake something that wasn't done very well the first time around. Don't remake the ten commandments and name it "exodus" and don't remake a cult classic like Point Break. What's next? A remake of True Romance?
There are so many gifted directors and actors in Hollywood right now. The studios need to take more risks because the actors and directors out there are gifted enough to make magic from something that isn't canned or predictable.
Eh, this the will probably be awful

I was able to guess the actress based on this post alone. Mind=blown. I don't remember ever hearing about this remake before either.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is the only Howser/Quaid
Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis (and Ernie Hudson) are the only ghostbusters.
No way Patrick Swayze can be replaced as Bodhi and Johnny Utah is Keanu Reeves.
I won't watch any of those remakes and I think "reboot" as a term is as bad as any phrase in corporate america.
yes, you can get off my lawn.

Very well said PJ.

Swayze, Petty, Busy and Reeves. You don't touch perfection.
remakes are totally unnecessary unless the "original" wasn't impressive.

Hold your tongue, man!!! My god....there could be studio people reading these threads.
But at this point, they're not too far away from remaking or "rebooting" movies that are 5 years old
