In this case, they are warranted. That is a fine young man. Very nice to see him recognized with the Payton Award distinction.

Here's the complete video from the awards show last night from NFL.com. I don't think many of us can comprehend growing up in conditions like his. It is heartbreaking to hear that as a child he thought he was "bad" and was a burden to his mother. Fantastic video, and I showed it to my kids, so they can know how lucky they are to be brought up with different circumstances and to know humility and a sense of duty to be kind, work hard, help others, and have a purpose.
