I think this happens in most sports, but I thought that the job done by Belichick this year was one of his best. Early in the season people were saying that Brady was done. They didn't have a good RB. Their WRs are nothing to write home about. They jettisoned a former Pro-Bowl offensive lineman. Yet, here they are in the Super Bowl.
I'm not discounting the job that Arians did in Arizona, but Belichick getting only 1 vote for coach of the year is only because being at the top of the AFC is expected of him. In order for people to notice you have to take a downtrodden team and then have a good year.
