Like a lot of us I was originally for the Pats--would make the Giants the only team they couldn't beat. But now post #Deflategate I'm not so sure. Thoughts?
see 'pjcas18'.
But I will still be happy with any other kind of Patriots loss
(especially now that there is a very convenient report that only 1 ball was a PSI under, the others just a few ticks{if that was originally mentioned deflategate is a non story}).
As much as the fans can be insufferable, there really will be something that the Pats can beat everyone, but will be 0-2 against Eli and the Giants. That bothers them to no end and it is fantastic
I don't want to see a back to back winner. And since my brother is a Seahawks fan, I want to see him disappointed for all the shit talking he's done against the Giants.
Pats - due to family in Masschusetts being big Pats fans
I'll be watching it with the same Pats fans who hosted me during Super Bowl XLII and XLVI, so I guess I owe them one.
I really don't care too much either way. I like the way the Seahawks play, but I wouldn't mind the Pats being unbeatable on a championship stage except when they play the Giants.
The matchup itself interests me, because the Giants won twice with a defense built around a pass rush. The Seahawks are built back to front, so I'm interested to see if that team design can have similar results.
I really have no issue with them. I'm not a Yankees fan so the Red Sox connection isn't there.. I don't know any obnoxious Pats fans. Them winning all the time annoys Jet fans. Bill's connection to the Giants. And I want the Giants to be the only team they couldn't beat. It makes us look better. Especially now.
I don't really hate Seattle or have anything against them either. Whoever wins I am not going to mind, really. Kind of a harmless SB for me.
I'm all Seshawked out. Then there's the Belichick connection.
And you gotta root for Julian Edelman. With a name like that he should be playing violin in a Symphony Orchestra, yet here he is in a Superbowl.
Plus we don't want to upset Gisele again.
Not overly fond of the Pats either -- but I have two reasons to root for the Pats and zero reasons to root for the Hawks -
My family is all from the Boston Cape Cod area and while I tease them mercilessly about the Giants -- I have no fish to fry this year -- so I'm rooting with them --
then there's the Giants -- the Giant's wins agains the Pats seal the vaulted status of historic legend if the Pats win - and that would thrill me
Go Pats! -- and I have Pats 7 Hawks 2 in the club box this year ----
I'll likely somewhat be rooting more strongly against New England (not wanting them to get SB #4), but if NE wins, we'll have the "They can beat anyone but Coughlin/Eli" to fall back on.
when doing so comes with them actually equaling the Giants in all time Super Bowl wins? Right now Giants are historically ahead of them, as a Giant fan I would like it to stay that way.
LOL, I don't care at all who anyone roots for I am just curious about someone's reasoning of how that is better for the Giants legacy. Someone like Chis in Philly is rooting for the Pats and his reason makes sense to me in that he views BB as a Giants so therefore is rooting for him, that's logical. The other reason how the Pats win is somehow better for the Giants legacy doesn't make any sense to me and I asked about it so what?
If the Patriots win and equal the number of Super Bowls the Giants have won, they still have a long way to go to equal the number of championships the Giants have won.
except 0-2 against, say, the Raiders or if Terry Bradshaw had been 4-0 in Super Bowls, except 0-2 against, say, the Redskins (yuck) or Eagles (double yuck), don't you think that would enhance the reputation of the teams that had beaten otherwise undefeated coaches and QBs?
I'm still rooting more strongly against the Patriots for the reasons many have stated (keep them from 4 Super Bowl wins), but a "consolation prize" will be the 4-0, 0-2 argument.
If they win they'd only have two Super Bowl titles. Pats already have 3 they need to stay there. And there's just something irritatingly annoying about the pats. Fuck them.
And I know I'm in the minority around here, but I don't like BB, despite what he may have done for the Giants in the past.

Cuase I can't stand anything from beantown
But NOTHING tops NE losing another one.

It just sounds better and they would be 4-0 / 0-2

* With a win the Patriots would tie the Giants with four Super Bowl wins
* Personally tired of Brady
* Their fans are beginning to remind me of Cowboy fans
* Don't like cheaters even minor ones
* If everything was equal I usually would prefer the NFC win
Marshawn Lynch is dick and the team has too many loudmouths, so I'd rather the Seahawks didn't win. However, if they do it's no big deal to me.
GO PATS!
