Mike Garafolo believes its possible to see an Osi Umenyiora reunion with the Giants in 2015. & #8234;#& #8206;giantschat& #8236; & #8234;#& #8206;nygiants& #8236;
Sounds like speculation and no other detail yet but thought it was worth a conversation.
but 2.5 sacks on the league's 2nd worst defense...how many pass rushing opportunities do you think there have been? I'm guessing not too many pass rushing situations come up when you're playing from behind.
He can come in and compete for a roster spot. If he makes the team...great. If he doesn't, he can retire a Giant.
That's not how this team works.
If they sign Osi, he's making the roster and he will see significant snaps, barring him being physically unable to. Competition will not exist in any real way, regardless of what he shows.
Would the team really be willing to use a roster spot on a 33 soon to be 34 edge rusher who had issues versus the run? And who's roster spot wood he take? Pierre-Paul? Moore? Ayers? Wynn?
I'd rather draft and develop a guy. I was a huge Umenyiora fan but he makes no sense here.
to take into account the value of having a veteran winner around as a help to the young players.
But I don't know what went on in Atlanta last year. Team has only 22 sacks all year and Osi gets two and a half. Atlanta wanted him to take a pay cut last year, but ended up paying him his full contract amount for 2.5 sacks.
Only way I can see him in the picture is if Moore goes down. Let him compete to be Moore's replacement.
Moore showed improvement last season and this year should tell whether we have a good young DE or another 3rd round draft bust.
employment anywhere. He might change his mind if someone wanted to give him a job.
He had a pretty good season in 2013 for Atlanta. Seven and a half sacks doesn't sound great, but the next highest Falcon had four sacks. Osi must have been doubled a lot. He had three of his forced fumbles and a pick 6.

We'll never give him the $$$ he wants and he will gripe about it.
Just don't give him more than vet min, or don't bother.

I know why I find this so funny – it's a Ziggy!
I don't know if they hate each other, but they definitely had some contentious negotiations, some of them public
But I have no doubt Osi would get over that in about 2 seconds if the Giants really offered him a paycheck to keep playing football at this point
- every other fuckin team in the league if they sign osi
I agree Vax. Osi doesn't bring enough to the table at this point to justify giving him reps that could go to the younger guys.
All he says is, "what if" the Giants bring back Osi... - ( New Window )

But last year?
