NFT: Josh Hamilton facing disciplinary action?

I hope he's not doing drugs again.
Ken Rosenthal asked

A baseball exec if its over ped's

The response from the exec was, "worse"
from Rotoworld and Rosenthal...
Mike in St. Louis : 2/25/2015 5:12 pm : link
"A major league executive told FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal that Josh Hamilton's coming disciplinary action is not for performance-enhancing drugs.

The executive said it's "worse" than that. Hamilton was summoned to New York City on Wednesday for a hearing with MLB officials and the Angels are said to be bracing for penalties. It's silly to speculate before more information is revealed, but Hamilton has a well-chronicled history of drug and alcohol addiction. This is trending in a very concerning direction. Anaheim owes the 33-year-old slugger $25.4 million in 2015, $32.4 million in 2016, and another $32.4 million in 2017."

I wonder

if Anaheim might be able to void the contract.
Wonder if the contact allows them some sort of out

It was reported at the time of the contract that it does not.

to a lot of recovering addicts and alcoholics. If he relapsed hopefully he is already taking steps to get back on track.
I've got a

soft spot for addicts as my family lost a close family friend to it. This is 1 million times harder for someone with fame and money to overcome. Every where you turn alcohol is right in front of you. Every single person can score drugs in every town in america, I hope he gets better I always rooted for him.
According to Heyman, he's admitted relapsing with cocaine.

Heyman thinks he'd be treated as a 1st time offender, another writer disagrees.

Being an addict is extremely difficult to handle...

Being an addict and having millions of dollars at your disposal must be so unreal I can't even imagine.
Yeah it isn't clear...

when he came back it was by agreement with the office of the commissioner, apparently on terms unique to him. What Manfred does with this is anyone's guess. Based on his last several years of being a solid citizen I'd guess whatever happens will be less punishment than therapy.

how is Hamilton being involved in cocaine worse than PEDs? Since when has baseball cared about anything other than blaming everything on PEDs?
I think most Angel fans....

hope he recovers and will be ok, but at the same time hope this ends his tenure with the Halos.

Horrible signing, and it's worked out that way so far. He's contributed zero.

Well, Hamilton has already been suspended for multiple seasons for drug problems.
