"I didn't have nobody falling down to help me get sacks. I didn't have that. I had to earn everything I got."
"I know you had a guy here [in New York]. He was not seeing me. Nobody was. When I played, I set the standard. I ushered into the Javon Kearses, I ushered in the Jason Taylors."
"I dominated when I played. There was nobody better at my position. Nobody."
"I like Michael Strahan as a person but I could care less if he's in the Hall of Fame or not."
"You had a guy here that went with four sacks [that made the Pro Bowl]. Four!"

Sounds like he wants some love.
Awesome player, outstanding career.. but there must have been something in the Tampa water to make these idiots say such stupid fucking nonsense about Strahan.
So much jealousy.
In the 1996 NFL draft, Simeon Rice was selected third overall by the Arizona Cardinals. He was selected after Keyshawn Johnson and Kevin Hardy. After a contract dispute that lasted through training camp, Rice signed a 4-year, $9.5 million deal.
It sounds like the old Buccs DLs are really obsessed with Strahan. Truth is that Rice was an exceptional pass rusher and shitty against the run. He was on an amazingly stacked defense, and the guy next to him, Sapp, commanded a double team on every play. So unlike all the ends Rice thinks he's better than, Rice was usually going 1-on-1 against a tackle. And unlike Strahan, Rice did it from the blind side.
I think it's that in combination with the "fairy tale" end to his career. Went out on top with a championship, hall of fame, then add in the fame/fortune that has him plastered everywhere.
Also I know Twitter followers is not the end all be all. But Simeon rice has 876 followers....Michael strahan has 1.2 million...LOL

Damn, MS is quoting me now.

The following year I felt like we had the 7 pick in a 6 player draft (Pace, Russell, Springs, Boulware, Westbrook, Jones).
I wonder how long a class act like Derrick Brooks shakes his head at clowns like this and Sapp before he smiles and gives them a pass because of everything they went through as brothers on some great Teams.
He also benefitted from Sapp getting double-teamed during his time in Tampa.
Strahan also has about 300 more tackles than Rice in his career. Joke of a comparison.
My opinion matters !!!
Someone give me a TV show !!!!
LOL how the Bucs can't handle Strahan.
I believe I read that one reason they didn't take him was that Art Modell's wife didn't like the Phillips' off field issues with his ex-girlfriend.
He was a strictly one-dimensional player; a very good pass rusher, but nowhere near Strahan's level at either pass rushing or, especially, playing the run. He's too one-dimensional to call him a great player. Very good, not ever "great."
Rice was a great pass rusher but a terrible run defender. I recall rumblings that scouts laughed out loud when watching his run defense tape from college.
Did Favre give Strahan that sack, sure, but who cares. Strahan was a dominant two way DE in his era and picked up the mantle from Reggie White. (Not that he was White's equal, he wasn't) Rice could never dominate a game like Strahan did. Furthermore, Strahan was probably held more than any other DE in his era. I recall the Giants sending tapes to the league office depicting all the ways Strahan was being held play after play.
