I have a policy with the Hartford. I started out paying $789 and 4 years later, it's $1,162 annually. They told me that the increases were due solely to increases in Hartford's cost of doing business, not my driving record which is clean.
But 47 percent in 4 years? Come on.
Question: Is this a reasonable increase or should I be looking for a new insurance company? (BTW Hartford also covers my house and umbrella liability, which have separate premiums.)
Thank you, in advance.
My wife and I started switching our car and home owners insurance every third year. Primarily because we saw Erie just keep increasing both for no good reasons. With online quotes it usually takes about 2 hours to check out 5 companies and select one.
We are currently using Keystone through either AARP or Triple A.
Thank you all for the advice.
BTW, I looked into USAA Insurance (for vets & family) a while back. Their customer service can't be beat, but their rates across the board, are about double what you would pay elsewhere. I have to believe that millions of American servicemen and veterans are getting ripped off.

The funny thing about USAA is that they use a vendor that employs Russians to do much of their hail repairs. Someone high up is getting seriously greased over this one since there have been numerous complaints for years about not using an American company that employs vets.
Geico would most likely be your cheapest there in NY since that is the state they have the largest segment of drivers in. Problem with them is that they are not real selective of their preferred repair shops and like Allstate, Erie, and a few others in your area, are more concerned with cost savings on repairs then quality
