I know Greg is not even reinstated and has issues off the field and The Giants seems to prefer to sign their own players.......but if all was equal.
Hardy seems to have a more consistent motor and should be consider if his off the field issues are resolved.
I doubt we could consider both......and I am not sure if its a grass is greener thing.....but I am a little concern about JPP motor especially after he paid.
Thoughts?
Maybe that's not generational money? Maybe it is, who knows.
But what's going to happen when he gets a 6 year 60M deal with 30M guaranteed.
Then he's going to get lazy? I don't question his motor, I question how he's used.
I'm no expert on athletes and their money, but I kind of think if he was going to get lazy it would have been when he signed for 16.8M.
I hate to have him play on the FT, but it would be good to see what he does with Spags as the DC. If he can be creative with where JPP lines up and disguise things with him maybe he'll have more success.
But I don't like to question players effort without a coach or someone of authority doing it first and I haven't heard anyone do it with JPP (other than fans).
JPP age 26: 42.5 sacks
Tuck at 26: 29 sacks
Strahan at 26: 32 sacks
JPP age 26: 42.5 sacks
Tuck at 26: 29 sacks
Strahan at 26: 32 sacks
How many years had each been in the league? Age is misleading.
In 63 games, Greg Hardy has a total of 204 tackles. In 75 games JPP has 286. So how did you determine that Greg has a more consistent motor than JPP?
JPP age 26: 42.5 sacks
Tuck at 26: 29 sacks
Strahan at 26: 32 sacks
THANK YOU.. Its like idiots think he should be getting 16.5 sacks every year..
Strahan has a 15 year career with the Giants.. you know how many times he had double digit sacks???
SIX... thats right SIX..
JPP age 26: 42.5 sacks
Tuck at 26: 29 sacks
Strahan at 26: 32 sacks
It is more of a passing league now. Also, JPP's sack #'s got a prop this past year when he registered 3.5 sacks the 1st 11 games and registered 9 in the last 5. Was the surge due to scheme, effort or inferior O-line play?
And Hardy seems like a healthier beast.
Yes he has been inconsistent...but yes he has been battling serious injuries including a back issue...that probably took a year or more to heal fully...don't like people on this board bashing JPP...what they deserve is for the Giants to low ball him...watch him leave and sign with Dallas...then consistently rack up 13-20 sack seasons and terrorize the Giant O for years...F Greg Hardy he simple is not as good nor does he have the same upside as JPP...there is not a single DE in the league I Would rather have...anyone talking about lack of effort and check out JPP amazing TD saving goalie play...where he literally comes from the other side of the field and makes the TD saving play
JPP Goal Line Play RGIII - ( New Window )
He gets praised for it - and JPP gets ripped for it.
Never have seen Hardy running to the opposite side of field to make a tackle or running down field to make a tackle
People have the unrealistic expectations for JPP. All people give a shit about is 16 sack season and if he does not do it again he is disappointing. Unreal
Seems to be a throwaway line that some use as if they are bolstering their argument. Show the stats.
Oh wait, Semipro did. Sort of debunks the idea.
Quote:
JPP is on pace to beat out George Martin to be the player with the 7th most sacks for the Giants. If he has a monstrous season (think JJ Watt level sacks), he can actually pass Justin Tuck for 6th and even Keith Hamiltion for 5th.
JPP age 26: 42.5 sacks
Tuck at 26: 29 sacks
Strahan at 26: 32 sacks
How many years had each been in the league? Age is misleading.
JPP: 5 years
Strahan: 5 years
Tuck: 5 years.
Strahan and Tuck both were 22 year old rookies. JPP played at 21.
