The next two years for them to reach the 89% minimum. I'm not really sure how this effects the cap, but I didn't see it posted and we are near the top in money to spend. Can't be a bad thing.
Previous restructurings and contract terms led to them to a pretty decent gap between the actual amount spent and what their cap numbers have been and they've got to make up some of the actual side now.
The bonus of JPP's contract or any sizable new deal will likely help them do it (while also perhap helping their cap number out, in the short term).

Yep. Note also the the consequence for non-compliance is that they have to cut a check for the difference to the union (who distributes it to the players they had under contract for that period). Nothing that affects the cap, the on-field product, or anything outside of the players' pockets and the Mara/Tisch bank accounts.
And a third of that money is probably already earmarked for Eli's next signing bonus.
Eli signing should not affect the number as much as you might think as his hit for 2015 will likely go down to help oe.g 6 years 120 million. 60G might be 10 million this year and 20 next year for a total of 30. Currently around 20.
The same is true with Prince since his 7 million is already counted and his two year cap numbers might total around 10.
JPP is a different animal as he currently counts 0 and is likely to cost 15 in cap hit over the next two years.
Admittedly very rough math, but it seems like the three of them would take away about 30 from the amount shown.

You're looking at it from cap terms. This about actual spending.
Bonus money paid from a JPP deal and especially an Eli deal (if they choose to stick with him) will potentially take down a lot of the actual spending, even if it "helps" the cap number in the short term.
b/c not only do the Giants have a ton of cap room but they could possible part ways with both Beatty and Beason saving almost another $10 million for 2016.
Of course, the Giants would need to draft a LT in this draft.

A lot of teams have a lot of cash to spend.
After taking into account the dead money effect of cutting Beatty and Beason, combine cap savings is $2.75 million. Then you also have to hope that the rookie LT is at least as good as Beatty or you're getting Eli killed but that doesn't matter because we will Suh. Suh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And what LT prospect has shown any ability at the NFL level to protect the blind side of the franchise QB.
#1. The blind side isn't what it used to be as the football is out of the QB's hands quicker
#2 The pressure is coming from up the middle more often than e outside now.
#3 Beatty isn't that good and had OBJ been taken it appears the Giants would have selected Lewan. If the Giants select an OT in this draft you don't believe Beatty becomes expendable in 2016? Really?
#4 The cap is a budget and last i checked the savings from parting ways with a Beatty and Beason in 2016 is not only a savings but a larger savings for 2017.
Then again, why add the best DT in the NFL to a pathetic defense and draft an OT when you can keep a medicore Beatty and keep drafting DT year after year.
Hankins, Jenkins, Patterson, Bromley are adequate especially if reinforced with a solid vet. We also have some DEs that can rotate in on 3rd downs. The position could be turned dominant with a blue chip acquisition (or the emergence of Bromley), but we are not that desperate.
Safety is a HUGE problem (Giants have no adequate starters), LB is also a HUGE problem (Giants have 1 adequate starter), and OL needs work as well (Giants have 4 adequate starters -Schwartz will help).
that's the amount needed to bring us in with the 89% compliance rule in the CBA, which is not accounted for the same way. It's cash spending. Certain things that count against the cap, like dead money spent, don't count towards that cash figure.
The Giants have been spending to the cap, but it's the way in which it's accounted for that leads to this number.

1. eh, not so sure about that. Warm bodies don't solidify the position. You're asking for a 3-Gap starter and DEs'. That's a lot. Suh is the most legit 3-Gap in the league and his disruption opens it up for others. I recall Justin Tuck lined up at DT which disrupted opponents was the main reason those DLines won Super Bowls. Well, the best DT is out there and pressure from the front four protect the back 7
2. Yeah, safety is a huge issue. The whole defensive backfield is in trouble in the QB isn't pressured and with the ball coming out so fast I don't see DE's getting as much pressure at the middle of the defense.
I don't see anything wrong with going after the best DT in the league and drafting an OL #1 followed by a safety in Round 2. Spreading the wealth throughout for multiple mediocre players I don't believe is the answer for a faceless defense.

Which is a damn good thing. Roster was turned over last year, but there wasnt enough of it done or lack of talent added.

Haha - maybe not but let's hear your solution to the problem.
