Two more veteran WRs released this am: Brian Hartline and Harry Douglas. Free-agent WR group grows.
I like Hartline....

And Douglas both. Didnt Hartline just sign a good sized deal with the Fish. He got his upfront money and now maybe plays for Vet min. An upgrade over Jernigan and Washington, fo sho.
Hartline

would be a nice addition and insurance if Cruz needs more time to recover. Shouldn't be overly expensive at 28 years old.
Hartline's contract was atrocious.

Even when he was putting up 1,000-yard numbers, he wasn't a difference maker. More liek a decent #2 / good #3 receiver. He was due about $6MM a year the next three years, so they had to cut him, with a dead-money hit of over $4MM.

Douglas was an easy cut: $3.5MM salary, under $1MM in dead money, wrong side of 30. Wouldn't be surprised if they bring him back, but it's a new regime in Atlanta and they're rebuilding.

I'd like Hartline as Cruz insurance and good depth regardless.
Don't

For what it is worth, I agree.
They dumped salary on hartline

the guy got paid too much for what he is and they are going to need to pay tannehill some $$$$. I personally like what Hartline brings to a team and he would be a nice no.4. He'll probably want more burn and more than what we'd be able to provide though
I read the Dolphins are quietly

shopping Mike Wallace.

No to Hartline.

What a difference a year makes

Why exactly would he come to NY to be a 4th WR at best - explain
Hartline
Mr. Nickels : 2/27/2015 12:10 pm : link
would be a nice possession receiver
Why would th ejInts consider either of these two cast offs?

There are younger, faster wr's in the draft and tons of UDFA's will be available. There is better value else where.

You would be an upgrade over Jernigan.
I like Douglas, he could really help us as a #3 or #4

He would solidify the WR corp.

Is a prime example of over paying your own players because they had a good contract year. Not sure what the best thing is about him as a WR hands, routes, game knowledge or decent size. However he lacks speed or separation skills and can go for weeks without making a difference. Solid 4th or 5th WR that got a 2nd WR contract for one year of good performance.
