who seems like a great kid.
A great kid and a fine young player.

We finally got lucky drafting a linebacker who seems to be proving out.
Didn't hear a single "um" in the whole interview
Upstate_Giants_fan : 2/27/2015 6:40 pm : link
I don't think I could go that long.

Well done.
I'd really like to see

the Giants get another young linebacker to start in 2015. Either in this draft or in FA. A good run stopper. Kennard is a start.

"Ah" was his word of choice while thinking of something to say. Still a greaat interview. Would love to see him as a MIKE despite his preference to be outside.
He wa sdrafted to fill.
dguy901 : 2/27/2015 9:57 pm : link
the Mike role. With his quickness and physicality, he should prove to be a stud!
What blows my mind
blueblood'11 : 2/28/2015 9:34 am : link
is that when you watch him play, and you hear him speak you wonder how in the world he fell so far in the draft. In the beginning when he was first drafted you heard all the negatives which really didn't make a whole lot of sense.

Well, good for the Giants and too bad for the rest of the league. All those negatives turned into positives and goes to show you how inexact a science the draft really is. I can't wait to see how Spags uses him. This kid is going to be a force if he stays healthy.
Why do we think that public speaking ability
Bob in Newburgh : 2/28/2015 9:41 am : link
has anything to do with intelligence (football or otherwise) or general football ability?

I fail to see the logic.

I think it is important for LEADERS to be articulate. I don't think it is an overwhelming indicator of intelligence
Contrast Kennard to Jayron Hosley
Bake54 : 2/28/2015 11:36 am : link
Hosley is not real articulate to be charitable.

Given the fact these guys are given wonder lick tests for crying out loud it's just as much a part of the whole package when they look at with these guys.

Having said that my reason for even mentioning it was because of how he was used in so many positions in college. So, when you hear him speak its no wonder he was able to make those transitions.

I'm not talking about his diction or anything like that. I'm referring to his football acumen. So, when you add it all up it makes you wonder when all things are considered how is it possible he fell so far in the draft.
Fell so far?
BlueLou : 3/1/2015 9:12 pm : link
According to NFL.com he graded out as a 6-7th rounder, and was over-drafted. His football history is riddled with injuries dating back to HS; he tore knee ligaments after playing 3 games as an HS senior. Hip surgical cartilege repair list one college season, torn pectoral another.
list =
