Usually it is the other way around when it comes to selfless heroics. How did he not get Hypothermia?

I didn't want to detract from his act. If he didn't drink before he rescued the dog, I am sure he had a few when he got to shore. : )

He'll carry the corpse of his nemesis who was murdered yesterday by gunfire.

Half a horse; he already has full ownership of the horse's ass.
Imagine making the decision to do that ?

pretty religiously and they often say that a person has like a minute or two that they can survive in water like that. That's just survive, not go in on purpose and rescue a dog. Crazy stuff.

She was a about 2 yrs old at the time. We (my Ol lady at the time & I) were packing up the truck in VT from a weekend of Skiing. The Lil bugger wondered off onto a pond (100/125ft diameter) just next to teh parking lot. The middle wasnt frozen over... Seeing her out there, SHEER PANIC like I've NEVER felt before (up to that point in my life... this was (holy SHIT!) 23 years ago!) anyway we're running around the pond trying to coax her back to solid sections and all of a sudden, KER-PLUNK into the water! I rip off my jacket and get in... smashing the ice with my forearm as I make my way to her... I was able to get her up on solid ice where she ran straight to my Ol Lady and I made my way out via the same path I went in. My Girl ran into the hotel lobby & got our key back so I could get into a shower... with dog, cold to warm to bring my body back to temp. Hotel staff were very accomodating to let us hang for an hour before I jumped in teh truck & drove back to the City. Was not gonna let that Dog Die on my watch!!!!
