With the number 9 overall pick we don't need an eventual impact player, we need an immediate impact player that is a playmaker/game changers for at least 5+ years. Not since Plaxico have the Giants been able to put a large intimidating receiver on the field (Ramses Barden doesn't count). If Kevin White and Shelton aren't around, I think we go with Devante over Scherff and Cooper.
I believe if we get to sign Bulaga then Scherff will not even be in the discussion anymore. Also, Devante's hands, speed, and height translate alot better than Cooper does to the NFL. Cooper is a greater Miles Austin type receiver (which isn't bad), but Devante Parker is an AJ Green with some of his catches and body control.
I've attached the Devante Parker Highlights below. Let me know what you think. And hey remember the number 3 ranked receiver last year is now the reigning ROY.

p.s.-- What's your opinion of his character, intelligence, and maturity based on the interview I linked?
Quote:
Pretty sure the interview conducted by the team is a totally different animal with totally different questions..
But those interviews don't appear on youtube. Are you going to trust some anonymous team official during draft season or are you going to form your own opinion based on the interviews with him that are available?

I didnt even bother to look Milton... because I dont care.. The Giants are not taking Maxx Williams @ 9..

see any way you can take him over Cooper if both are available.
Put on the tape. Cooper is smooth and 6'1" but he drops alot more passes than you'd think. And even at the combine he made some catches look more difficult then they actually were. I don't know me personally I'm not sold on him. But if the Giants draft him I'll go with what our professional scouts think about him over the youtube videos lol
If he had 124 catches last year, how many drops could he possibly have had? Was the ball thrown to him 20 times a game?
Tell me he wouldn't be the perfect complement to Cruz and OBJ....

If you had taken the time, you would've come away impressed. The Giants are very unlikely to take Williams with the 9th pick, but maybe they would do it with the 20th pick?
I would punch all kinds o face if this happennedd
White and Cooper are much more complete receivers at this point.
Likely not to the level of Evans and OBJ (which is extremely rare for any rookie WR) but perhaps somehwere in the neighborhood to what Watkins did.
Not so rare to see 3rd or 4th receiver selected end up pretty good. Nicks and OBJ as a couple prime examples.
Parker might have the highest upside of the 3. His catching radius is pretty sick and his game speed is better than White's IMO.
but the thing that's really surprising to me is the tape on Dorial Green-Beckham - this guy could be a bona-fide superstar -- the comparisons to Randy Moss are pretty spot on
I'm of the opinion that Cruz at 90% what he was is better most #2s in the league and would still present enough of a threat to cause teams to pause about only worrying about Beckham.
If we dont fix the D this offseason (Spags alone will not do it) then those games where the offense is struggling, we'll have no chance.
The Giants going WR in round 1 will say alot about Cruz's rehab and potential this season.

Million dollar talent, 10 cent brain. He apparently bombed his combine interviews too. My outside impression: stay away.

of Cooper, White and Parker -- but they are all pretty talented - and 3 very different types of receivers -- White is definitely more physical than the other two -- Parker has great height and uses his body well -- Cooper is very fluid and smooth

Randy Moss was pretty much a moron too - but a heck of a talent on the gridiron
Giants typically don't draft Dez or DGB types. Guys who are not willing to mature and will likely be trouble, headaches and drama throughout their career.
