NFT: Neverwinter to release on Xbox One March 31

I really enjoyed playing WoW but felt I would not play it enough to warrant paying the monthly subscription. Neverwinter is free to play. Does anyone play this for PC and can tell me how it compares to WoW? Also, did anyone take part in the Beta for Xbox? MMORPG I've heard on consoles do not translate well from their PC counterparts.
I participated in the Beta.

The basic MMORPG concepts are similar, but in terms of gameplay, they're different beasts.

Neverwinter is more of an action-RPG. I like the combat a lot, and it feels great with a controller.

Target-based combat like WoW probably wouldn't translate to a controller, and of course Neverwinter can't touch WoW in terms of the sheer amount of content.

But if you're looking for an MMORPG that you can play casually, Neverwinter is a great option because it's a lot of fun and very accessible.
Diablo seemed to port to consoles really well

so that bodes well for other ports like this one.

Is an excellent game ... Neverwinter Nights is actually the best of them all especially NWN 1 (modded is very much like table top version). NWN 2 is also very good just was a resource hog went it was 1st released. Again if you prefer more tactical battles you will like it.

I prefer turn-based more than real-time because it allows for a more strategic battle which is simplier funnier in my opinion.
Sword Coast Legends

looks like a promising follow-up to NWN2.

But the the Neverwinter Nights series is a lot different than the Neverwinter MMO, which is really D&D in name only.

They both are off the D & D rule book ... NWN just attempts to mirror the table top better by the inclusion of turn-based...

However I see you viewpoint.
