Cowboys to use franchise tag on Dez Bryant

The Cowboys have to notify the league of the move by 4 p.m. ET Monday, which will guarantee Bryant roughly $13 million in 2015. The Cowboys will not use the exclusive franchise tag on Bryant, but a team would have to give up two first-round picks if Dallas chooses not to match an offer sheet.

At the NFL scouting combine earlier this month in Indianapolis, owner and general manager Jerry Jones said he hoped the tag would be a "placeholder" until the two sides can work out a long-term deal with Bryant. Jerry and Stephen Jones had their first face-to-face meetings with Bryant's new agents, Tom Condon of CAA and Kim Miale of Roc Nation, last Tuesday.

Hope he threatens to sit out now

It still doesn't say he was tagged or that he will be tagged. There are rumors that he will be tagged if a deal isn't agreed upon. Still, these are just rumors.
It sounds like that is correct though

The other part of this is that Jerrah's son

said they will let DeMarco Murray test free agency, which is a tacit admission that he's going somewhere else next year. That means we'll probably see Dallas spend a pretty high pick on a back (hopefully not Gordon)

Not really. It's an admission that they can only franchise one of the two and they chose Bryant. Whether or not they can retain Murray comes down to money. If another team makes Murray a blockbuster offer, the Cowboys probably won't have the cap room to match it, but I don't think allowing him to hit the open market is a declaration of surrender.
Whatever happened with that video?

As a player that is being franchised...

I'd take Dez over JPP everyday of the week and twice on Sunday's!

Talent wise...not even close. One guy is going to make 13 Mil the other 15 Mil.

Crazy when you think about it......

If you honestly think JPP is going to play the 2015 season without a new deal then I think this is the first year you have followed professional football.

Not to be a total dick, but your reasoning pretty much makes no sense in the context of today's NFL...nice try though.
Uh,
