start of spring training, spring break starts this week also, the cold up north, Lee county is absolutely packed.

Twins stadium is 5-6 miles away off the same road.

I avoid going west of 75 as much as possible. Great for the economy, but us locals are sure glad when it's over.

If your coming down for a game or 2, enjoy the area and have a good time.

Where did you hear,read about CC not being ready for the season.

He knees will not let him complete a season. I think he gets maybe around 15 total starts. Look for multiple trips to the DL.

Good to hear about Pineda. I do have high hopes for him!

and CC and Arod break down and are forced to retire it will be the best year since 2009. How does the insurance money work? How long do they have to be DL'd to get their money off the Yankees books? It would be a huge win if Teixeria, CC & Arod were all gone by the end of next year.

If they retire they stop collecting money immediately. More likely they'll wait until their contracts are up to do so, and ride it out on the 60-man if they truly can't go.

hopefully before CC takes his first trip to the DL. It's very tenuous, no doubt, but if healthy the Top 3 are a legit Top 3 and Eovaldi could have a big year.

Whitley has received a lot of favorable reports too. People forget that this is his first Spring Training as a starter. He started at the end of 2013 and then made it all the way through spring of last season as a reliever before they stretched him out to provide insurance for the big-league rotation. He's never going to be a front half of the rotation starter, but he has a shot to be a nice insurance policy should Capuano look like Crapuano or someone gets hurt.

My guess is he's at AAA until the first double-header. Similar to Chris Leroux. Maybe he surprises, but he's a homer-prone pitcher at YS, what could go wrong?

I do agree that Beltran can give their money's worth. Prior to last year, he had a few healthy seasons that were very productive. But, I also think A-Rod can be more than a salvage job. He is in shape and working hard. If he stays healthy, he should be fairly productive.

AROD has played a handful of games these last two seasons, I would not get my hopes up for a guy at his age, no matter how great a shape he is in, and that is even a huge question mark when you consider him having two hip surgeries. If he were even 35, I would say maybe, but he is 40. I just don't see it al all, hope for him to be too embarrassed to play like this and he retires by working out a deal with the Yanks, that would be the best case scenario.
