Bring Osi, Canty or Cofield back?

Would welcome Cofield back, and in a rotation with Jenkins and Bromley.

Move from Kuhn and Patterson.

I love Osi, but unless he found the fountain of youth - NO.

If Cofield can come back cheap, I'd love him in the 4 man DT rotation. That's a big IF though.

Maybe Osi as a pass rusher if he's still got jump.

And even that deal wouldn't be too far over the minimum. As long as he can get to the QB he can find a place on the roster. Canty/Cofield would only be minimum pickups for the 'Mike Patterson' role.

His production has gone south quickly and he is more one-dimensional than ever. Not sure how Canty has performed, but Cofield would be interesting.

But in all seriousness, we need younger players.

The 26 he had this past season were in about half the snaps he had in 2013. For comparison's sake, JPP had 38 this past year in about 3x the snaps Osi played.

I'm not a scout, obviously our front office will go to the tape and judge for themselves, but there's some reason to believe he may not be fully cooked just yet.

If Osi and Cofield both come back for under 5 million a year then the Giants should seriously consider that to invest the money elsewhere. Yeah we all want to "get younger" but you can't do that everywhere in one off-season. Both are quality vets who could become solid rotational pieces. I'd tend to say pass on Canty because he's a little older and has much more wear and tear on his body.

I was saying that we aren't going to give him a big contract. 3 years, 8-10 million w/ 2-4 gauranteed.

Absolutely not on Canty. The guy was hurt a ton when he was here.

Hard to know if the Pro Personnel guys think he's got somethind left. If they think he does he'd be perfect. Can play either 1 or 3 tech. Not that old. 2/3 years 2/3m per. Solid rotational type for depth and talent.

at the right price. also since he's cut he doesn't impact compensatory picks

He's 31, has not had any major injury (high ankle sprain is notone), hasn't missed many games in his career, is a good teammate, does the little things and produces. Cofield would be a great addition to the team.

Cofield as a cheap rotational guy may have some gas left in the tank, but if he wants starter money there is no reason to give it to him.

We need a 3 Tech Pass rusher type DT. Hankins, Bromley Jenkins will round out the group. Cofield is more of a run stuffer.

Out with the old, in with the young is a great philosophy if you can find the young.

Depending on the draft, I might consider bringing Osi into training camp to push Moore while at the same time teaching Moore. Reese doesn't seem to appreciate the value of veterans. JPP is one I think is so immature that he did and might still benefit from having Osi as a mentor. Even more so Tuck. These two ring veterans are a little special.

Osi not likely to make the team, unless injuries hit, and then could retire as a Giant under good circumstances.

If you're looking for a role model for Moore, it shouldn't be Osi. He was bitchy and was strictly a pass rusher.

Cofield got to the QB plenty. I think people forget how well rounded Cofield was as a DT.

I would give the guy some money to come back

Of 'Qb hurries' because he shoots off the edge taking wide angles which the qb simple steps up to avoid.

Osi and Cofield can win a spot in camp...I say take em back !

but id take them all in. great depth. Cofield and Canty could probably start as the DT2 and id be all for a DT depth chart that read hankins cofield jenkins canty.
