However, he had a son with a disability (autism?) and was very prevalent in his life and his ex-wife could have made it all up. Who knows? These situations are always tricky but he "seemed" like the model father. The information is probably out there but this is what I remember.

had some off field concerns when he assaulted his girlfriend as a member of Seattle and the Giants still signed him.
Chris Maumalanga was a former gang member in LA and the Giants drafted him, and he actually got in a fight and punched out one of his team mates and had to have Armstead and some others pull him off the guy.
Looks like you started this thread so you could come back a half hour later and share that unsubstantiated nugget about Bradshaw.
Well congratulations. Nice work. FWIW, I'm not a huge AB fan, and in my one encounter with him he seemed as dumb as a brick (though perfectly pleasant). I just think you crossed a civility line here.
As far as I know, he never got into any trouble, here or at Florida. He was a disappointment on the field, but I don't think he ever embarrassed his team off of it.
After winning Super Bowl XXI with a dominant defense, the Giants drafted offense with eight of their first nine picks. White was the only exception, in the second round, among WRs in rounds 1, 3 and 4. He was drafted to replace Kenny Hill, but it didn't work out. Myron Guyton jumped him on the depth chart in 1989, followed by Greg Jackson in 1990.
- Underage drinking;
- Resisting arrest (same incident as the drinking);
- Petty larceny (for the PlayStation).
Maybe he did other stuff; maybe he didn't. I simply think it's chickenshit to defame somebody's character by anonymously posting a rumor that he committed a violent crime, with absolutely no evidence to back it up.

I wasn't trying to stir up anything, I was trying to get the facts straight. jesus christ
OBJ: If your goal was to get the facts straight...
... the deafening silence here should tell you what you wanted to know. You've run this story past the most devoted, obsessive part of the NYG fan base, people who live and breathe Giants football 24x7x365, and nobody has offered the slightest corroboration for your old man's rumor.

Part of the season I started the thread, thank you so much for the confirmation.
RE: Christian Peter might have been the most notorious.
Kerry Collins had the booze and the idiotic racial slurs.
Out of curiosity, how much do you think that cheap ass shot that broke his jaw contributed to his issues? Was it rumored he was like that at college? He just never seemed to be the player he was prior to that hit in a few different ways
It wasn't anywhere near the start of his problems. By his own admission, Collins was a binge-drinking time bomb long before that. Here's a well-researched 2000 piece from ESPN Mag that traces his problems back much farther.
At the time that story was published, Kerry's recovery was still in its early stages. Notably, he had met his future wife, Brooke, earlier that year, but they wouldn't marry until 2002. He later credited her with cementing his turnaround. That makes sense, considering how isolation and loneliness are highlighted in all the accounts of his dark period from his friends and family.
It might have been the turning point you're looking for, much more so than Romanowski shattering his jaw.
Quote:
When he was 14, his father moved him to the school district of a state football power, creating a chasm in the family that still has not healed. "That sent a couple of messages to me," Collins said. "One, football is more important than anything. Two, if everything works out in football, everything will be all right in life. That obviously wasn't true with me."
Collins paused for a minute and considered his past and his future. "I encourage parents to let their children choose their own path. I won't make the same mistake with my children that was made with me."
In some ways, his history foreshadowed the later revelations about the Penn State program: One, football is more important than anything. Two, if everything works out in football, everything will be all right in life. Peter King on KC's confessional Super Bowl presser - ( New Window )

They did pretty well with that guy. And, yeah, he was trouble.
Can't find anything about it, though.

He's not the only person I've heard mention it, go play in traffic...

Then again, Frankie was a baseball player, so I guess it's possible.

The witch hunt reference is ironic, considering the OP's tactics.

The Hammer also was involved with beating his kid.
