he Houston Chronicle's John McClain reports the Texans have given Andre Johnson permission to seek a trade, and if one can't be found, he'll be released.
The Texans informed Johnson that he'll have a reduced role in 2015, and the soon-to-be 34-year-old has asked to be cut or traded. Houston will grant him his wish. We highly doubt any team will trade for Johnson, considering he's scheduled to earn base salaries of $10.5 million and $11 million the final two years of his contract. The Texans will clear $8.825 million against the cap by shedding Johnson's contract. The move will lock DeAndre Hopkins into the clear-cut No. 1 receiver role after he took another leap forward as a sophomore in 2014.

End of an era in Houston. As competitive as ever, bet he still can put up solid numbers but didnt seem to have that seperation ability last year as he's clearly lost a couple of steps. This has a Patriots type move written all over it.

I think it would be good to add a pass catcher in FA and in the draft and Andre could be a solid target if his price tag is reasonable coming off a down year.
Talk about a complete 360 with respect to the locker room and off the field, I wonder if Houston knows what they are getting into.
With respect to the Giants and Johnson, the question is the money and the length of the contract he would want.
He's get his Throw-Tos and OBJ and (hopefully) Cruz would open up the field for him.
Caveat: provided he really hasn't lost it, and the $$$.
Change of scenery would do him good; he has been a semi-persona non grata the last 2 years.
IMO if Johnson wants a ring, he needs to go to (In No order)
The Giants, The Ravens, The Patriots, The Colts,
