30, and not great in coverage. But he's a hitter. Might still have value as a roll player. Not sure it makes sense for us, even with our need at the position, but I bet the Giants are at least looking at it.
Hitters still have value in this league, even as the rules devalue hitters.
Pollard had asked for his release so he could finish his career with a contender. He probably would have been cut anyway: it didn't make much sense for the perpetually-rebuilding Titans to pay $3.2MM for a 30-year-old thumper coming off Achilles surgery, since there's relatively little dead money involved. With Griffin, Wilson and Pollard, they were really old at safety, for a team that isn't exactly on the cusp of a championship.
If the Deon Grant role still exists post-Fewell, Pollard is a pretty good fit - if only as a "Beggars can't be choosers" signing. He might wind up starting, once Cooper Taylor suffers his annual injury. Pollard also rooted for the Giants in SB XLVI, which should count for something. Pollard hopes Giants 'put a thrashing on' Patriots - ( New Window )

The man is a Patriots killer.
