NFT: Major Thursday Snowstorm?

Bockman : 3/3/2015 11:17 am
I better not hear any complaining about heat in the middle of July from any of you corksoakers. I'm sick of winter and snow and its looking like another storm is coming through tomorrow night into Thursday.

This one though is all over the map. Weather Channel has 1-3". Weather Underground is 5-8. Various Facebook sources I follow are now saying it could be a massive storm up to a foot.

Which one is real? Should I be planning on running grandma over in Stop N Shop for bread and milk? Or can I safely start polishing my golf clubs?

Definitely looks like something is coming.

Day 2

Day 3
...
DanMetroMan : 3/3/2015 11:23 am : link
However, here's a general snow and ice outlook for Thor Wednesday into Thursday:

Heaviest snow potential: 6 inches of snow or more is possible for parts of southern Missouri, southern Illinois, far southern Indiana, Kentucky, far northern Tennessee, southern Ohio and West Virginia eastward into the Delaware Valley and New Jersey. Parts of the Ohio Valley may see up to a foot of snow, locally.
Accumulating snow will also blanket parts of Arkansas, Oklahoma, north Texas and the Texas Panhandle, southern Kansas as well as the southern Rockies and adjacent High Plains.
Ice potential: Some accumulations likely from north, perhaps central Texas to parts of Arkansas, northern Louisiana, Mississippi, northern Alabama, Tennessee into southern Virginia and northern North Carolina. It remains unclear how much of this falls as sleet vs. freezing rain. Sleet accumulations may top 1 inch from parts of Arkansas and far northern Louisiana to the central Appalachians.
Impacts: Roads may become treacherous and locally impassable in the southern Plains and Ozarks Wednesday and in the Mid-South and parts of the Ohio Valley by later Wednesday. Lingering icy roads possible into Thursday in ice-affected areas. Power outages and downed tree limbs are possible in areas where freezing rain is most persistent.

it's not a large storm in size but the areas hit will see substantial accumulations in the 4-8" range with locally higher totals dependent on mesoscale banding. LI, north NJ, southern New England look to see those peak totals Wednesday night into Thursday.

This is separate from the snowfall this afternoon, which will change overnight to mix and then rain, with rain ending during the day on Wednesday.

This is so fucking annoying. Enough already. If it's not -10 degrees outside, it's snowing every other day. Can we just get a few 45 degree, sunny days? I don't think that's asking much for March.
Better rush out and buy

Bockman, which course/s do you typically take those golf clubs out to? Curious to know as I live in the area and all I can think about is the day this white, crusty, frozen shit evaporates from the ground clearing the way to get out and tee it up.

I joined Racebrook late last year. Before that I played most of the public courses in the area, like Oak Hills, Grassy Hill, Great River, Traditions, etc.

Weatherman always has the goods here, but agreed, most of the guys on TV are lackluster. My understanding though is that this winter (for whatever reason) has been notoriously hard to predict (not much model agreement maybe?)

This clown happens to be right most of the time and can actually coherently explain weather systems.

You, the kind of ass clown you are, can't even break down how horrible the Thomas Vanek deal was.

Kinda like you and the other BBI Islander fans who raise the 5th flag everytime the Isles make a trade (Ryan Smyth/Thomas Vanek) or win a pre-season game?

Except he actually IS right.
Apparently your lack of reading comprehension extends far beyond hockey.

But I know you have a massive inferiority complex when it comes to the Rangers, so.. I realize that's not an option for you.

which included a number of people from Boston. The theme seemed to be that if they get one more really lousy winter in a row, they will relocate even with a major pay cut. They are just really beat up by this mess.

Meanwhile Weatherman, is there the potential for really severe floods in parts of NE as this stuff melts? Which parts? Thx.
