I better not hear any complaining about heat in the middle of July from any of you corksoakers. I'm sick of winter and snow and its looking like another storm is coming through tomorrow night into Thursday.
This one though is all over the map. Weather Channel has 1-3". Weather Underground is 5-8. Various Facebook sources I follow are now saying it could be a massive storm up to a foot.
Which one is real? Should I be planning on running grandma over in Stop N Shop for bread and milk? Or can I safely start polishing my golf clubs?
I really hope you are wrong weatherman, we could really use a break up hear, just had 6 inches Monday.
GfiM - if SW MA you'll miss it, SE MA and you'll get the edge of the system, not max accumulations, but enough to plow for sure the closer to the SE coast of MA you get.
Bobby - that will be alright, major accumulations overnight.
Hudson - that guy sucks.
SF - Friday is fine. Cold, but fine.
Weatherman....why do you feel that way on wx risk? He's been right as long as I've followed and he does a real good job of explaining the science and technical aspect to the layman. I can't think of a more accurate educational place for weather.
Sheesh this winter sucks.
Hopefully this is the LAST snow storm of the season.
After this weekend, my sense, my hope, is that we'll have seen the worst of the near- and sub-zero cold, as we're getting close to the equinox. But snows, I'd be willing to bet we'll have another two or three after tonight. fwiw, which ain't much.
Spike - 4-6", and I doubt it's the end.
Hudson - he's a wiggle watching sensationalist with no verification and a disturbingly poor understanding of ensemble modeling. Had Sandy making landfall in Chesapeake Bay for crying out loud. Bookmark the site of your local National Weather Service office, they are the ones who issue the actual watch and warning material for your area.
WM, yes, thank you and the heavens. Delta actually got them out of the gate early, waited in the fog, and off they went, thank you Lord she's landed safely and probably with the kid right now.
I came back to this thread after posting on today's regarding this storm: the accumulation reports way understate what we're getting here.
