I don't think there was any intent to injure on Martin's part, but I do think he exhibited irresponsible control of his body that could not only cause an injury to an opponent—and it did—but also an injury to himself. He clearly had eyes on landing a hard elbow hit and didn't care what path he took to get there.
So with that, I do think being so out-of-control warranted a small dose of discipline. It's not good for the league or the fans.

We fucking get it, its annoying to listen to. The isles cant beat teams at full strength or onlynhybrid hockey. Every team is playing with the same exact setup of rules in the regular season. I know its a rivalry but for fucks sake give them a little credit. I was man enough last year to say the rangers were going to the finals at the start of the playoffs last year and I have no problem saying they are the team to beat this year. They have 2 awesome goalies and a group of top dmen, its easy to be jealous of.
