enforce the rule all that hard but it still kind of stinks. I could care less as Im stoked to get a close up look at Nimmo, Puello, and Herrera but I know my woman is going to be bummed and it must suck for the casual fan.

Its freaking hot out. Quite the adjustment from Boston a few days ago.

It's not a rule. It's not a law. It's technically a guidline, but poorly enforced. Supposed to bring four "regulars" and play them at least a couple innings each. Looking at tomorrow's checklist, mets will get a simple phone call if and only if the home team decides to complain

Z - early spring games are the best for a die hard fan like yourself, but a snore fest for a casual fan like your girlfriend sounds like she is. Couple quick tips.

Orlando isn't the most fan friendly spring place to visit - more like an AZ facility. It's pretty neat though. Wander around. AWESOME views from the "upper deck", only place in FL with that view. Bring blankets and hang out in the grass in the OF. All you can eat/drink option is good if offered that day, just for a shaded spot to cool off and still see some of the game.

Enjoy the game. Just do yourself a favor. Bring out the kid in you and head over to Pirate City in Bradenton to check out their minors, then catch a game at the old ballpark

Apparently Collins says Flores is fine and will play tomorrow... Except he didn't check his name off on the list above.

Do you frequent Orlando a lot? I actually live down here now and obviously go to a bunch of spring training games every year. Im in Orlando almost weekly. When I lived in south florida a few years back I had a friend who worked in the front office for the Marlins who gave me press passes for any game I wanted. When the Mets played 9 times a year I was allowed in the tunnels and on the field with the players while they were taking batting practice, ect. Have a ton of pictures with Beltran, Piazza, Reyes, ect. Those were good times. Unfortunately he no longer works with them.

I'm glad to see Reynolds have a good game in his first spring training appearance.

Keep an eye on Nimmo. You will fall in love with him. Watch the little things he does. He is a tall athlete who is smooth - but watch how he hustles. About the article you posted though, read that carefully. Puello looks to be the second most out of shape guy on the team, not 6'3" and muscular. A better shaped Butch Skey if I dare go there? Not fat, but let's just say he isn't a small athletic guy you always thought he was...

To put the articles optomism into perspective. "the balls bounding into a parking lot endangering windows and windshields of innocent cars.". The only field near a parking lot he describes would mean weak foul pops to 3B. And none of the above mentioned players hit there. The field they hit on has other fields behind it and lots of trees lol.

That's a bit much. Puello is huge and muscular but he has a ton of speed. That hasn't gone away. I never said he was "little". Thanks though. Should be a fun day. I am very excited for Nimmo!

But in a group of 100 Mets he stands out as having a very different body than the rest. I'm not so sure the speed will stay around for long.

Talk about being a homer. I like Montero a whole lot but the comment about him not yet being proven as an MLB starter is 10000% on point, I'm shocked someone would even debate it.

Lucas Duda hit off a batting tee Wednesday.

It was the first time he’s swung a bat since straining a muscle between his ribs in mid-February.

Duda went on the disabled list in June 2013 with a similar muscle strain. He also missed significant time last Spring Training with a tight hamstring.

I can see him as a Gee maybe Niese guy. Good, never great. But cheap and useful MLB starter. Five or ten years ago we all cling to a prospect like him as an important piece of the future. Now we are SOOOO deep in arms it's more "hey if he owns out cool. If not whatever". Sick difference to our past pipelines.

Just to be clear, I really like Montero. I just find debating "he's yet to prove he's an MLB starter" is laughable. Sandy Alderson himself wouldn't debate this, Montero wouldn't!
