While the biggest problem the Giants still have is to finish rebuilding the offensive line, the team needs to regain the suffocating defensive dominance that all championship teams have.
In my estimation, whether by the #1 draft pick or a first tier vet, left guard needs to be fixed. (The best scenario would have them signing a vet) .....
The draft can be devoted to restoring the Giants' defense to it's former glory with young men like Shelton, Malcom Brown, Fowler, Ray, Beasley, Kendricks etc.
As excited as the Giants organization is to have Spags back, it would be a crying shame not to provide him all the fire power to make several Super Bowl runs while Eli Manning is still around.
Although we have lots of needs, the biggest need in my eyes is simply to raise the overall talent of the roster. Creating strength where once there was weakness in any area can have a big help. Improving one side of the ball can only help the other, etc. etc. Being dominant in areas can help cover up some amount of weakness in others. Depth and specials are important as well.
So even though I see a lot of areas I would love for them to fix, simply adding good football players, wherever they play, will make me happy.
A good OL can help the D with ball control, and a rested D, and the D can help its 2ndary by seek/destroy QB and RB(Strahan in 42: ' If we do not get to the QB we are not winning this game').
