That's a set of tires I wouldn't mind kicking for a one-year deal. He did just turn 30, but he's a solid pro who does a lot of things well.
Saints release running back Pierre Thomas

Indeed tempting.

I'm also not too big on paying veterans at RB, but Thomas' skillset is just what the Giants backfield is lacking right now.
Among the many attributres that make him an upgrade over Peyton Hillis

One fumble every 200 touches. For Hillis, it's about 1 every 55.
Seems like he hasn't seen the field

all that much the last bunch of years due to one injury or another. This could be an incorrect perception on my part
He catches the ball well, too.

Saints sure don't have much at RB after they let go of him and Ingram is a FA (just Khiry Robinson and Travares Cadet).
Good role player

Just don't think he fits in with rb's we have right now that adds a different look. Not interested.
He is a good receiver and very good at screens.

He caught 327 passes after being targeted 387 times in his career.
Nah.......

Would rather spend our limited resources on safety, oline and LBer.
Far too many RBs with same skill set in draft; younger, more athletic and much cheaper.
How's his pass protection

If we throw Pierre Thomas into our backfield and think that's gonna fix our pathetic run game.
Some speed and someone who can create please...
He just needs a very limited role

He can be useful as a pass catcher and his pass-pro is not bad ... The D would have to be honest in how they play him...
He is a vet minimum signing.
