Just looked out the window and motherf****, this just does not want to go away. Picking up the kids from school is going to be entertaining.
NWS' Snow Accumulation data for this storm
ColHowPepper : 3/5/2015 10:17 am : link
are way understated if my home area is any indication. Extreme NE Westchester (10 miles north of Stamford, CT) yesterday and last night was predicted for 1" - 3", maybe 2" - 4", and current data shows 1.5" accumulation.

No way! We already have close to 5" and coming down steadily.

Weatherman, why is it that the snow accumulation predictions for storms in 2015 have, as I see it, been materially off? In general, the predictions have pretty significantly understated the actual amounts.

Is banding becoming more prevalent? Is the battle of the models in flux?

It is totally a Winter Wonderland up here. Beautiful, but a pain in the ass beautiful. Kind of like Kelly Clarkson's song, "Beautiful Disaster". lol

Stay safe everyone.
Glad I decided to walk to work today

HH, came back to the Thursday storm thread three pages below and saw your comment, Jan 20, 1978, and responded there. Of course, you were right, 1978, and blessings on him/her. Heck, you're probably only one generation younger than I.

WM, thanks for your luck on thread below; yes, she made it.

on the roads? I'm at work in Great Neck, live on the south shore in Merrick. I can leave whenever but I'd have to make up the hours, trying to figure out if I should head out soon or wait a little longer if it isn't too bad out.

Thanks!
