The punishment an NFL running back takes

is beyond the comprehension of most fans. Defenders are bigger and faster than ever and the RBs have to absorb that force.

Heard Bill Polian on Colin Cowherd's show a couple of days ago. He said that contrary to conventional wisdom the RB position hasn't been devalued, but the punishment RBs take now is so great that they're very prone to injury. So you have to have several RBs getting significant carries and you have to spread the money around among those guys.
This guy was so good for a few years

I'll always have fond memories of him stonewalling Shawne Merriman.

Amazing how him and Ray Rice have declined so much. Always thought they reminded me of each other due to their size.

The NFL HOF is going to have an interesting time with post-05 RBs. Outside of Peterson there just isn't a guy who seems HOF worthy. And Petersons off field BS might even force him to wait a year or three (I hope not).

MJD is no HOFer but he was a really good player for a few years who could've left a bigger imprint on this league if he just played on a good team.

He has had a fantasy football show on Sirius for a few years. Seems like a smart guy who has set himself up for a career after football.
