I can't stand the guy, but what's ESPN thinking? Ohm was decent, but Graziano is a jerkoff. It's like asking John Rocker to write for the Mets. Only thing is John Rocker at some point had talent.
Exhibit A:

Since then he's been actively against then (1) to get even with the fans who gave him such a hard time and (2) to show to himself and everyone else that he wasn't much off in 2011 characterizing the Giants as a mediocre team. It only took them two years to turn into a bottom 10 team without very good prospects for the immediate future.
Jordan Raanan, on the other hand is awful in my opinion. Super negative AND light on the football analysis.
Of all the empty words sports writing and analysis I have ever read, he is perhaps king.
I thought he acknowledged he was an Eagles fan. He was really on that Dream Team '11 early.
This x100
The one redeeming thing about going to Dallas is that the writers who cover the Cowboys are outstanding.
Love reading the local guys in Chicago too. How does the media capital of the world wind up with such hacks.
Matt Mosley.
Pretty sure Graziano was selected for this specifically to be controversial and generate clicks.

beat writer, but he doesn't really bother me. He certainly doesn't give the Giants much love, but I think a lot of his criticisms are fair, or at least well reasoned (though they bum me out).

Raanan has this lovefest with Philly. Where Graziano is a Jets Fan, Raanan loves his Egirls. I can't stand anything he writes. Oh the days of Garafalo

I don't get the dislike with Raanan. Maybe it's because he's not MG? The guy gives a lot of inside info and hits on some obscure/newer topics that aren't tired and regurgitated. I like him. The other guys are all the same IMO. Not great, not bad.
NYG07 are you talking about Ohm Youngmisuk?

I think the issue people have with Raanan is that at the very beginning, his articles were very clickbaity and somewhat sensational.

Damn. I must suck for someone to hate me more than Graziano!
Hahaha, this is probably accurate.

Thanks for blocking me from commenting on NJ.com bc you can't take criticism. Instead of stealing content and posting it as your own at least say your sources are BBI. I still think you are a Philly fan who hates that he has to write for the Giants. But make sure you block me because I said I liked Garafolo better than you. A class act.

Garafalo loved the Giants. I just wish we had a beat writer that actually liked the team he's writing about. I never said I was an expert on class. But since you know me so well....

I usually don't respond to stuff like this but you are incorrect on everything. I NEVER block anybody. That is not my style. If you were blocked or had comments erased, that is because your were flagged by people that monitor our site.
And ironically, it was Garafolo that was born in Philly and grew up an Eagles fan. I grew up in NJ a New York sports fan. Maybe you didn't realize, but since I've been covering the team (past two years), they've been terrible. When Garafolo was covering the team they won two Super Bowls. Maybe that has something to do with my negativity?
And as far as stealing sources, you have no clue about our business. There is definitely some useful stuff here and some knowledge/informed people, but I have to pass my information through my boss and certainly can't use people I don't know and have never met.
I havent tuned you out like many of the other Beat writers so you must be doing something right.
good old rule of 'z'
JR has defended himself but explain something about how this professional writing thing works:
As a reporter, if you read a post on an Internet bulletin board, from a person you don't know, that's not enough to write and post an article. It may be enough for you to start calling your sources. If it's a post from Eric, yeah, probably. If it's a post from me, maybe not, since I don't use my name here, and anonymous tips are always suspect. But that just gives you something to ask your regular sources on your beat.
Then, if you confirm the story, preferably with two independent sources, you write and post.
Once you are at that point, you might credit the unsubstantiated, unsourced rumor you read on a fan site, but you might not. Why should you? It's one thing if another site or outlet breaks an actual news story, and publishes a sourced, substantiated article. Then it's considered ethical to credit the outlet that broke the news. And if it's something Eric posts, yeah, you might credit him.
But a rumor posted anonymously on a fan bulletin board? No.
In either event, it's not some egregious offense against decency if you don't credit BBI for a rumor you read there.

This is hilarious and proof that a writer need not be a fan of the team on his beat. I got some disappointing news for you robro...Garafolo is a born n bred, dyed in the wool EAGLES FAN.
It would be nice if being a Giants reporter wasn't such a revolving door so we could get a guy who builds contacts like Goslin or McGinn.
Can't remeber the circumstances beyond that. But perhaps that's why he is loved so dearly here. The other thing is If you ever asked him to answer questions over email with him, he usually would. I always got the impression that he had his laptop open 24 / 7... Working and thinking about football.
Granted to a lot of people here that sounds like a dream job but if you have a family and travel all the time that can be a hellish position.
