NGT: Rumor: Jets expected to release Percy Harvin

Beer Man : 3/6/2015 1:19 pm
According to NFL on ESPN
NFL on ESPN - ( New Window )
seems like a good citizen
pjcas18 : 3/6/2015 1:22 pm : link
if he's released his next team will be his 4th team in 4

that's hard to do with the kind of money he's made.

I would say he's got Raiders written all over him, but I think the Pats make a play now that they didn't exercise the option on Wilfork.

Florida and Rutgers are where Belichick gets his players.
David Harris resigns with them

3 years, $21.5 million. 15 of which is guaranteed.
Should say
pjcas18 : 3/6/2015 1:23 pm : link
4th team in 4 years
didn't the Jets trade for him
Rocky369 : 3/6/2015 1:28 pm : link
or am I misremembering?
feels like a Pats move

But what they really need is a deep threat and Harvin is more of a swiss army knife who really isn't that big of a deep threat.
That will give him a headache
Gman11 : 3/6/2015 1:34 pm : link
.
4th team in 4 yrs.?

There must be a reason.
Great potential(?)that he doesn't live up to?
he's
Les in TO : 3/6/2015 1:39 pm : link
a pre-Madonna :) even by wide receiver standards.

Yes, but he's got a big cap hit if he's on the roster this year.

IIRC.
The Jets
pjcas18 : 3/6/2015 1:43 pm : link
traded a late round pick for him (6th rounder) IF Harvin isn't on their roster on March something.

If Harvin is on the roster it turns into a 4th.

Part of the reason they might release him - plus the huge cap hit.
I think I saw that the Jets will actually save $1M
knicks3031 : 3/6/2015 1:50 pm : link
by bringing in BMarsh and cutting Percy. And only have to give up a 6th now, it was a great trade for them
Surprised they wouldn't keep him
Sonic Youth : 3/6/2015 2:08 pm : link
though I don't know what the deal is with their cap.

Harvin - Jeffrey - Decker - Kerley is a good WR corp. Too bad they have nobody to throw them the ball.

Going to the Jets is like a death sentence for QBs. I think Geno could have developed into a starter if he went to a different team.

Forget about a QB, too bad they don't have Jeffrey.
I think
Giantfootball025 : 3/6/2015 2:18 pm : link
it's obvious the poster meant Marshall and not Jeffery.
Not sure
redwhiteandbigblue : 3/6/2015 2:33 pm : link
What he would bring to the Pats especially at his salary. Much of his appeal is his return game. They already have Edelman and Amendola who are more than adequate.
Harvin
Mr. Nickels : 3/6/2015 2:36 pm : link
would be a nice replacement for Cobb in Green Bay
Harvin is a giant douche

Goes back to his days at Florida. Had coaches familiar note that he wasn't liked by the Florida staff. Bit of a prima donna that did what he wanted.
Some players
Giantfootball025 : 3/6/2015 2:52 pm : link
never get what it takes to be a professional football player/athlete. And whatever the reason that may be, Harvin is one of those players.
Zero interest
NYG07 : 3/6/2015 3:10 pm : link
He is a major douche bag and is insanely overrated/always hurt.
To me Harvin has the Eagles written all over him....
BillKo : 3/6/2015 3:51 pm : link
in ability, but his attitude won't fly with Kelly.
Guess he's not a likeable guy
